What is in Lana's future?

I know the history for Clark and Lex but is Lana's supposed to be assuming the show keeps with the mythology of the characters? Does Lana get involved with Lex? Someone please tell me.

You can find Lana's tragic comic history here. I'm not sure what the SV writers are planning for her, hopefully it's nothing too dramatic, but in the comics she ends up marrying Pete.

Well the writers in Smallville have went far off from the comic books, that anything is possible, they have practically written their own entire story, using Superman as the main storyline, but making the characters, the plot and the storyline their own, not true to the original, so I say why not let Clark & Lana get together, it isn't going to screw anything up (LOL)

Hmm... I don't think they've gotten too far off track. The SV writers are reinterpreting the story for the purpose of the show, which means Lana and Clark are free to do whatever they want within the scope of Smallville. Clark is eventually going to land up with Lois Lane at the Planet, and Lex will turn against him. They wouldn't go so far as to change those things.

See, now this is why I find Chloe to be a far more interesting character, since her future is undecided

As some said, the creators of the show are reinterprating the show based on the comic, but they are not rewritting a new mythology.

And in the comics, Clark ends up marrying Lois Lane (who isn't Chloe changing her name, according to Gough), Lex becomes evil, and Lana marries Pete. They have a son they call Clark.

More pining over Clark until at least the end of this season until she wises up, turns eighteen, and falls in love with Lex.

Hey xmag I'm pretty sure you were our resident expert on the comic canon. I'm glad that they didn't turn Chloe into Lois... although Clark could learn something from both their characters, I liked that Chloe was G & M's own creation. You'd think that would make them want to use her more often. :p

I'm pretty sure I read something about Lex having Lana tortured for info on Clark. Which means Lana knew about Kent's powers while Pete didn't. That's one thing that's a little different.

In the comics she is just in the process of divorcing Pete (who is president of the United States btw) and who is fighting her for custody of their son *drumroll* little Clark. BTW the reason they are seperated is because Lana kissed (big) Clark while under the influence of some alien mindsucker thing.

According to Chuck Austen she will have a strong reoccuring role in Superman: Action Comics.

Hee. I just hope she leaves Smallville behind. Her managing the Talon has shown that she's ready for bigger and better things.

Yeah, I'd also love for Lana to leave Smallville behind her. For different reasons though.

*ahem*

Anyway, the role she plays in SV is probably going to have an effect in the comics. Depending on how far DC will change things, I'm hoping that they can handle her character a little better than the SV writers do.

I wouldn't mind if Lana left Smallville. In fact, I encourage it. She just needs to stop sucking and I support any way that lets that happen. Death seems like the only thing that will redeem her to me at this point. Although, knowing us, we'd probably speak very ill of the dead.
