No!! I didnt like her either. It seems we are the only ones. Everyone is raving about her. Hey what do we know. She just grated on my nerves the more she talked. The only scene I tolerated her in was with Lionel otherwise I wanted her to get back in her car and go away.

I don't really dislike her yet, but I don't like her yet either.

I definitely have a problem with her being sooooo Chloe-like. The dialogue had Chloe written all over it. So did the fact that she talks too much, enters places without knocking, and has a coffee fetish. They're just very, very similar. I mean, we already have a Chloe, we don't need another one.

I also don't appreciate that Clark has this immediate flirty relationship with Lois, but he's remained blind to Chloe's romantic charms for years. They have the same personality! If he likes one, he should like the other! Unless it's just a superficial thing based on looks...in which case, shame on you Clark Kent. Is brown hair really that important to you?

So, yeah, I don't dislike Lois for anything in her personality or anything, because, well, then I'd have to dislike Chloe too. I'm just worried that TPTB were so eager to bring in Lois to shake things up that they're going to give her storylines and screentime at Chloe's expense.

Oh, also, flirting over her cousin's grave? Slightly tacky, IMO.

That isn't a bad thing, but with her, it just seem forced. Like they were automatically trying to make us like her. I really couldn't stand it when she walked into Martha's home, making herself at home and then confronting Lionel as if she has known him for years.. WTF?

I can't wait until she is gone, if you wanna know the truth... and the wrinkles/laugh lines around her mouth annoyed me, she looks to old for the role... They all do, but I am use to seeing the other's and she looks out of place..

That is exactly how I feel. You just put it better. She was forcing to much and she is to damn old to be playing a 19 year. I am sorry I am not even buying TW as 18 year old. I barely bought it when he was playing 15.

I didn't like her much either. I just had a picture in my head of who Lois is, a more comic book idea of her and ED just didn't fit it (not her acting just her look, and how the witers themselves wrote Lois). I hear all the people talk about her and how great she was but I can't work up the love for her.

I think part of it is because I don't think she belongs in Smallville, it seems more like a ratings ploy, than a story arc. I mean if all of Clark's future is right there in Smallville then what in the world does he have to look forward to. I have loved the Superman story since I was little and I always wanted to grow up and be Lois Lane, (even went in to journalism), so it isn't my shipping that puts the damper on my love of Lois, I just want her to be something more that she was. Plus I hate, hate, hate the fact that she isn't a journalist already. The one thing that is important about the character of Lois is that she is a journalist 100% of the time, all the time, first and formost ect. I just can't like a Lois that isn't Lois.

Once again someone else put exactly what I am feeling. That is it in a nutshell. She is not there to help the story along. She is just a distraction because they have no where else to go. They have written themselves in a wall. If Clark sees his future why leave Smallville. He might as well just stay put. The enemies seem to land right at his front door. Lois there just about put the final nail.

She was the one thnig that he was supposed to wait for in the future. Now that is ruined as well.


I just found her scenes forced and she tried to have the charm and guts of Chloe but she failed miserably.

Exactly, in my heart of hearts I have always been for Clark and Lois, it's about destiny and yes the show is about destiny to, yet sometimes we have to wait for destiny. We have to grow up to reach the really great things in life. But for poor Clark everything bad and good in his life is already there, already happening he has no real future because it's all the present. I was ok with Lex being there because he deserves to have more depth, but then they bring in Perry White and with the spoilers even more people that just don't belong. TPTB aren't just changing canon their destroying it. Plus I was always in the belief that Lois was smart, but she has to be a special kind of stupid not to regonize Superman in the future.

And on a complete side note, I still can't stand that Lois is Chloe's cousin, I love Comic!Movie!TerriHatcher!Lois, and I love love love Chloe I think beside's adding young!Lex to the mythos the best thing they did is make Chloe Sullivan and I just can't stand the fact that, that this Lois gets the life that Chloe has worked so hard for. In Smallville Chloe deserves something more than it seems that TPTB are going to give her.

That is very well put. She looked completely out of place. I had a different picture in my head for the role of Lois myself.. I pictured someone short, with dark hair, not to confident, but someone who dosen't let you run over them. She had the not letting anyone running of her part, but she was just to darn cocky and I saw no CHEMISTRY what so ever between Clark and Lois and could never picture them together as a couple, let along them having a future together period. I dunno, I guess if I am forced to watch my show with Lois in it, then I would rather it be a Lois that is so much more different and someone that has Chemistry with Clark at least and oh don't even get me started on next week... Lois and Clark in the same bathroom/shower and her snarky comment when she say's hey to Martha while behind Clark... EEEK! That really annoyed me. I hope Martha says something to her.. and not so nice this time..

I have a problem with that to, one I hate that she's staying at the Kent's in general, if she's suppose to be this Big City Girl, why didn't she make plans before going to Smallville. On the bathroom note, I have personal issues about anybody barging in a bathroom while I'm in it (bad school thing) so it I can't stop the bias about it. However I also hate it because if your a quest in someone's house you don't just going in without knocking and waiting patiently for your turn. I know that some people think it's cute and shippy because it alludes to the future but it's not the future it's a girl he hardly knows interrupting his potty/shower time.

Oh my God stop being in my head. That is why I am so disappointed that she is there. He is not ready for her yet. Just the fact how he has treated Chloe these past 3 years is proof of that.

He is still a kid and Lois is when he is a man.

I hate that they are shafting Chloe and making us see that she will never have what they will have in the future. A future they never planned on but thanks to Chloe they will.

I knew when they made Chloe and Lois cousins it was not good for Chloe. I am sorry but I don't buy this so called Lois and Chloe closeness they have.

As far as I can see Chloe just used her for a place to lodge at while she was in Metropolis. I just dont see them as this close best friend crap. That scene at the grave was so unbelievable. I just my eyes during the whole thing.

Why do the grave scene when I dont have a connection with Lois. To me she is an interloper that doesnt belong there.

I don't buy it either, for one thing during Obscura, if she was going to stay with Lois, why wasn't Lois worried when she didn't show up on time and beyond that why in the hell didn't she come to visit her or freak out.

Plus BIG WORD! To the jerkyness of Clark to Chloe in the past seasons, if he can't treat someone well (who is almost exactly like Lois minus dark hair) then it's not time for Lois. Plus if the only reason Clark wants future!Lois is because of her hair. Then I give up and I refuse to watch the show, because they gone beyond just twisting canon, the complete destroyed my first crush (Clark Kent).

Crap! I have to go to the store with my mom. I wish I could stay on to discuss Lois Lane more. This may be my new favorite thread, I'll have to come back again now.

They sound very suited for eachother.

All I know is I am not buying Lois in Smallville and I am not buying this version in Smallville. She just doesnt fit and is very look at me. I can't stand people like that.

I think that it must be really hard to bring in a all around likeable Lois, I mean I hate that she is so neurotic, it just rubs me the wrong way. It has a lot to do woth the fact I don't find the neurotic that fun to watch, and she just hits all of the things I hate. That and I was a big supporter of the Chlois theroy, simply because I saw that if Lois were ever to be young and headstong yet soft enough she'd have to be Chloe, that and she was a reporter. I never completly shipped an OTP here because of Lois, so having the Chlois theroy made it easier to want both the Chlex and the Chlark (because I really love them both). Chloe played that part between them both so well. To me Lois was both the light and dark that both Lex and Clark needed so much(Chloe plays that so well too). Lois was the good Lex needed so much, so he could believe in it and to Clark, Lois was always more shadowed than pure good. She did good things but didn't always do them in the nicest ways. I love that about Lois, so far Smallville!Lois isn't my Lois. Maybe that can change if they show more of a difference between her and Chloe, and they don't fall into a Mary Sue syndrome. If they make her to much of a b*tch you can't like her and if she's to passive you can't respect her. She has to be a better mix and right now I see that she can't become that without stepping into Chloe's role, and from a pure story perspective you can't have two characters that are clones of one another. One would always be useless, my biggest fear is that Chloe will become useless or worse a Season 2 spineless!whiner (again) compared to Lois.

I didn't like Lois either...I don't hate her or anything, I just didn't find her all that great. I had an image of what Lois would be and then, she came and was totally different. I don't think she fit into Smallville like all the other characters...she stood out, but not in a good way. Did that make sense?
