I read in I think it was either SFX or Dreamwatch magazine where they were discussing the season and saying that Unsafe's death scene was meant to be similar to a moment from the Superman films, but it didn't land emotionally the way they wanted it too. I think they were happy with the Clark/Alicia romance itself, they talked a lot about Sarah Carter having great chemistry with Tom

Uh, okay. I don't understand their concerns, either. I think it was a very good scene. Not sure how they could have done it any more emotional.

I think they wanted a more emotional scream or something they said
 Tom's acting broke my heart in that scene though, and I think it definitely had the impact that they were going for because a lot of people complained about Recruit not following up on Alicia's death and Clark never mentioning her again__________________
