I want to suggest a better suitcase that might be hard for the Niffler to open but I doubt it. That creature will find ways to escape.

It makes sense that way because he's also illegally taking the creatures (but with good intentions) so it would be convenient for him to hide them all in his suitcase so he won't get caught.
