Total Film Magazine has posted their list of the 50 Greatest Harry Potter Scenes and one of the top 10 moments is Neville’s finest hour! Some other Neville related moments are also on the list and they may all be read below:

7. Neville and Nagini
The Scene: Neville Longbottom destroys Lord Voldemort’s last remaining Horcrux, swinging the sword of Gryffindor to behead the hideous serpent, Nagini.
The Awesome: Neville has been growing into his role as unlikely badass as the saga has progressed, and this is the point at which he graduates to full-on hero status. Well done that man!

15. The boggart
The Scene: Harry’s defence against the dark arts class is treated to an encounter with a boggart, a strange creature that takes the form of its victim’s worst fear. Understandably, Neville’s is the fearsome Professor Snape…
The Awesome: The Riddikulus charm treats us to a glimpse of Snape dressed up as Neville’s elderly grandmother. What a fetching hat!

36. The Department of Mysteries
The Scene: Harry and his friends become embroiled in a battle with the Death Eaters in the Department of Mysteries. Just as things are looking grim, the Order of the Phoenix arrive to turn the tide, but at a cost… the life of Sirius Black.
The Awesome: The critical blow is dealt by Bellatrix Lestrange, whose gleeful reaction only serves to make the moment more shocking.

43. The Yule Ball
The Scene: Hermione arrives for the Yule Ball in a stunning pink dress, leaving Harry and Ron gobsmacked by her glamorous makeover. To make things worse for Ron, international Quidditch star Viktor Krum is on hand to share the first dance…
The Awesome: Amid all the wand-waving and spell-casting, it can be easy to forget that our heroes are still teenagers, with all the hormonal angst that goes with it. This scene taps into that side of things nicely!

Lewis likes post-Potter bad role
Quote:

Matthew Lewis has revealed that Harry Potter fans will be surprised at his next TV role.

In his first part since the Harry Potter films ended, the British actor - best known for playing Neville Longbottom in the wizarding series - will portray a druggie called Jamie in The Syndicate, a five-part BBC TV series written by Kay Mellor.

"Jamie is a drug-taking, mouthy scallywag from a council estate in Leeds and Neville is a shy, reserved boy wizard who's afraid of his own shadow. On the surface they are world's apart. However, when you scratch below that surface they have similarities," he said.

Matthew - who is filming his first post-Potter big-screen role in Wasteland alongside Timothy Spall and Luke Treadaway - said he didn't actively seek to play a bad boy.

"I connected with the character of Jamie instantly and wanted to play him from the moment I read the script. The fact that he was a 'bad lad' didn't really factor in my decision making. I just knew I wanted to tell Jamie's story and thankfully Kay granted me that opportunity," the 22-year-old said.

"A lot of people will dislike him and they will find him on the surface to be a pretty disagreeable bloke. He's been through a lot but I'm not asking people to justify his behaviour, I just hope they understand it on a human level.

"That for me is the challenge, and that is what drew me to him. I'm really passionate about this guy and this story."

:: The Syndicate is set to air on BBC One in late March.

Matthew Lewis’ brother, Anthony (also an actor), has revealed via his Twitter that The Syndicate will be premiering on March 27th.

I have just been told by Kay Mellor that The Syndicate will be starting on 27th March at 9pm on BBC1. Be there!

BBC have posted the synopsis for the first episode and it is as follows:

In a new five-part drama for BBC One, written by Kay Mellor, The Syndicate tells the story of five workers at a cut-price supermarket in Leeds whose lives are turned upside down after they jointly win the lottery.

In episode one, local Right Buy U supermarket in Leeds is threatened with closure, spiralling its five staff, Bob, Stuart, Denise, Leanne and Jamie into an uncertain future.

Faced with the prospect of losing his young family if he doesn’t get hold of some cash quickly, assistant manager Stuart Bradley and his younger brother Jamie are forced to take matters into their own hands, with dramatic consequences for store manager Bob.

Just when it seems things can’t get any worse the unthinkable happens: 18 million pounds falls into their laps. Is the money going to be the answer to all their problems, or is life about to get a whole lot more complicated?

Oh wow! I didn't realise Matthew was going to be in that! I've seen the ads, but obviously just didn't recognise him. I'm looking forward to it more now :)

The My Leeds brochure had an in-depth interview with actor Matthew Lewis, whose BBC miniseries The Syndicate airs on the network beginning March 27, 2012. Matt, who portrayed Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter film series, discussed some of the things he learned from the set, his admiration for former costar Daniel Radcliffe, how fame has changed him, and what he loves about his hometown of Leeds, UK. That feature, and new photo shoot, can be seen below.

Also, Matthew, according to his reps, was invited to the red carpet grand opening of Warner Bros Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter on March 31, 2012, but it is not confirmed if he will be able to make it due to his filming commitments for Wasteland, which he is shooting now in Leeds. We will update as soon as we hear confirmation on whether or not he can attend the ceremony, which SnitchSeeker will be on the red carpet for to interview the cast and crew as they arrive.

Finally saw The Syndicate. Matt's character is far from Neville Longbottom. But he does a great job. Can't wait for ep 2!

Reviews for The Syndicate are in! Read up here: » The Syndicate Reviews | Matthew-Lewis.com

I recommend the show for anyone who isn't watching yet. Very interesting characters and I'm liking the story so far. :)

Matt just tweeted that his character's episode is the last one of the 5. And that makes sense his character has the most to lose in the story. I wonder if he'll come clean by that time.

Great ep last night.
