They say it's like Boardwalk Empire but British.

Helen's role is quite good on the show. She's the patriarch of the family. The aunt of Cillian Murphy's character. They are a crime mob family and it's set in the 50's. The show is based on a true to life criminal gang based in England: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peaky_Blinders

It is based loosely on the real mob family back in the 50's but the SLs on the show are all made up.

It also depends if you like watching period drama? I didn't watch Boardwalk Empire but I feel like it's similar to that one.
