3 episodes per series? THREE? That is not much, even for British standards. I really should watch it. I'm going to. At some point.

Yes, 3. And every episode is perfect. You should definitely watch it.

I think this might be a semi-spoiler and I don't trust the source too but anyways:

So has anyone seen "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel"? I don't know why we're still not getting it here.

Actress Lillete Dubey admits she was bowled over by the professionalism of Hollywood veterans Dame Judi Dench and Dame Maggie Smith while shooting with them. And rightly so. “There’s this scene between me and Dev (Patel), where Maggie just has to utter one line, off the camera. She sat there in the sun from 8 in the morning to 1 pm, till wefinished our shot, just to give me the cue! Same with Judi, who waited for hours to make her entry at the end of the scene,” says an impressed Lillete. She is elated to be part of the British film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, shot in Rajasthan, with a super-stellar cast that includes — Dame Judi Dench, Dame Maggie Smith, Tony Wilkinson, Bill Nighy, Penelope Wilton, Tena Desae and Dev Patel. The fact that John Madden, of Shakespeare in Love fame, directed the film, made her go for the audition — something that she had stopped doing long ago.

Gah, I can't wait for s3 to start already. It's been a while I've heard new quips from Violet and I really miss those.

-- Maggie Smith and Penelope Wilton, those dueling frenemies (Violet, the Dowager Countess of Granthan, and Cousin Isobel Crawley), can both be currently seen enduring the discomforts of India in "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel." Wilton also appears on the British TV series "North by Northhamptonshire," and Dame Maggie stars with Michael Gambon and Billy Connolly in "Quartet," directed by Dustin Hoffman and recently picked up for U.S. release by The Weinstein Company.

There's always next year, Dame Maggie! You're always the winner for us.

You won the BAFTA instead of Maggie?

No I didn't. Since I'm not an actress. Or British for that matter.

Oh you mean WHO won. Yeah, that was Monica Dolan.

I'm sure you mean who won and it's Monica Dolan for "Appropriate Adults". As I don't watch the show, I can't really critique her but I'm sure it was a close call with Maggie but of course I prefer Maggie to win this.
