I'd only do that with a trusted friend. I think I'll treat my wand much like a cellphone: be careful with it.

I think it's a burden to get another one especially if you've grown attached to your wand.

I read something that wands take time to adjust to their owners. Remember when Harry & Ron 'stole' those wands from the Snatchers in DH2 and this happened?

It depends I guess. There's no time frame. I'm guessing if you use the wand long enough or is a skilled wizard, your wand would adjust easily to you.
