If magic was legal in the muggle world, then yes. We should have muggle laws for magic so that anyone who abuses it will get jail time.

Then why would Peter betray his friends? I think it's his insecurity and maybe also his upbringing? He never felt loved by parents? I'd have to read up about this past...

He didn't betray his friend bec of his insecurity and others, he was afraid.. I mean, hell, if someone threaten me, I ain't go die for them.. Hell no.. Even tho if we all went on our own way.. I mean.. He just scare and had no choice to do it.. Shrug.. For that, I understand that..

Yeah Peter is a coward but I just can't fathom him betraying his friends over Voldemort. He doesn't even know Voldemort the way he does his friends.

That's true.
 At that time perhaps Peter was still finding himself. Maybe he felt he didn't particularly fit in with his friends and wanted more out of his dreary life.__________________
