Exactly. They can't really change the past without affecting the future. That's called a paradox (attempting to change the past to also change the future). That's dangerous to do.

I really wish the Malfoys were more like the Weasleys. Maybe if they weren't rich then they'd have more perspective about how hard life is.

At least in the end, the Malfoys walked away from everything and finally realized that they were battling at the wrong side.

I agree. Lucius just went along because they are his family. Plus he'll be jailed and sent to Azkaban if he stayed.
