That's why I think even if his mother survived childbirth, I still think she'll give him away. I think the father left them before his mother gave birth? I have to read up...

Yeah in any scenario, I still think that Tom Riddle would've ended up in an orphanage just based on the background of his parents. Without that tragic family background, I don't think Voldemort will be evil.

In the orphanage, he was raised there. Remember in one of Dumbledore's memories, he visited a very young Tom Riddle? I think he blames himself for putting ideas on Tom's head and eventually making him evil but I don't think Dumbledore should blame himself.

That's why I think Voldemort blames himself for how Tom turned out to be but of course that's not his fault. All of what he has become is on Tom.

I remember you asked this before because I also thought that Dumbledore blamed himself. He was the one who approached Tom and encouraged him to go to Hogwarts so he can explore magic. But of course everything that Tom decided is all on him and Dumbledore shouldn't blame himself.

Yes he did. He waited to graduate until he can really get into dark magic as he can't really do illegal stuff while still in Hogwarts.
