I have a feeling they know as they are wizards too. It's vague to me what happened afer that scene but when Jacob & Newt came out of that suitcase, they were already in open field right? That scene where Newt had to do the mating dance for one of the creatures?

They shouldn't because they were inside the suitcase. That was a mistake from part 1, imo.
