She's tough, not in an unpleasant way, but she's gutsy. He needs to be with someone who can stand the demands of being with Harry Potter, because he's a scary boyfriend in a lot of ways. He's a marked man. I think she's funny, and I think that she's very warm and compassionate. These are all things that Harry requires in his ideal woman. But, I felt — and I'm talking years ago when all this was planned — initially, she's terrified by his image. I mean, he's a bit of a rock god to her when she sees him first, at 10 or 11, and he's this famous boy. So Ginny had to go through a journey as well. And rather like with Ron, I didn’t want Ginny to be the first girl that Harry ever kissed. That's something I meant to say, and it's kind of tied in. Harry has really grown. And I feel that Ginny and Harry, they are total equals. They are worthy of each other. They've both gone through a big emotional journey, and they've really got over a lot of delusions, to use your word, together. So, I enjoyed writing that. "She's been talking about you for ages." He was skinny and small. He had bright green eyes. He was a hero. A hero at the tender age of one. But he was isolated, awkward, and confused. Sometimes angry, sometimes introverted. Temperamental. Undesirable. He was her brother's best friend. And now he was older. He was angsty. He was burdened. He was always covered in blood. "Why is it that he's always covered in blood?" 15 years of turmoil communicated through dry wit and screaming dulcet tones. She realized he liked someone else. Someone older. Someone prettier. "Well at least we know one thing, Cho couldn't take her eyes off you could she?" She knew he was out - of - bounds. But it didn't matter. Because he was sweet, he didn't pick on her. He liked her family. He brought her out of the Chamber. He saved her life. “It's all right Ginny.” So..she ran after his train as it took off - laughing, crying, falling back. She never nagged. She wasn't weird. She didn't cry. Her brown eyes reflecting against the firelight. Her bright red hair dancing behind her. Her reading a book in her bedroom window. He would walk with her after practice. Laugh at her jokes. His stomach swooped when she patted his arm. He'd hug her quickly and move away. He'd stand up when she walked into a room. He'd vapor-lock. He'd embarrass himself. He'd have dreams. "Dreams that made him devoutly thankful that his best friend could not perform legilimency." Ginny caught Harry's eye and they both turned away to hide their laughter as Percy strode over to a girl with long, curly hair, walking with his chest thrown out so that she couldn't miss his shiny badge. _________________________________________________ Year Four {Goblet of Fire}  "He -- er -- just asked Fleur Delacour to go to the ball with him," said Ginny. She looked as though she was fighting back a smile, but kept patting Ron's arm sympathetically. - - - - - "She's part Veela," said Harry. "You were right -- her grandmother was one. It wasn't your fault, I bet you just walked past when she was turning on the old charm for Diggory and got a blast of it -- but she was wasting her time. He's going with Cho Chang." Ron looked up. "I asked her to go with me just now," Harry said dully, "and she told me." Ginny had suddenly stopped smiling. _________________________________________________ Year Five {Order of the Phoenix}  "Harry, I'm talking to you, can you hear me?" "Huh?" He looked around. Ginny Weasley, looking very windswept, had joined him at the library table where Harry had been sitting alone. ----- "You seem really down lately," Ginny persisted. "You know, I'm sure if you just talked to Cho..." "It's not Cho I want to talk to," said Harry bruskly. "Who is it, then?" asked Ginny, watching him closely. "I...." He glanced around to make quite sure that nobody was listening; Madam Pince was several shelves away, stamping out a pile of books for a frantic-looking Hannah Abbott. "I wish I could talk to Sirius," he muttered. "But I know I can't." Ginny continued to watch him thoughtfully. More to give himself something to do than because he really wanted any, Harry unwrapped his Easter egg, broke off a large bit and put it into his mouth. "Well," said Ginny slowly, helping herself to a bit of egg too, "if you really want to talk to Sirius, I expect we could think of a way to do it...." "Come on," said Harry dully. "With Umbridge policing the fires and reading all our mail?" "The thing about growing up with Fred and George," said Ginny thoughtfully, "is that you sort of start thinking that anything's possible if you've got enough nerve." Harry looked at her. Perhaps it was the effect of the chocolate-Lupin had always advised eating some after encounters with dementors-or simply because he had finally spoken aloud the wish that had been burning inside him for a week, but he felt a bit more hopeful.... _________________________________________________ Year Six {Half-Blood Prince}  A roar of celebration erupted from the hole behind her. Harry gaped as people began to scream at the sight of him; several hands pulled him into the room. "We won!" yelled Ron, bounding into sight and brandishing the silver Cup at Harry. "We won! Four hundred and fifty to a hundred and forty! We won!" Harry looked around; there was Ginny running towards him; she had a hard, blazing look in her face as she threw her arms around him. When I read the book and THEN watch the movie, I get annoyed with the book stuff that I loved that's not there. And I really, really loved the battle scene just exactly as Rowling wrote it. And there's almost no way it's gonna be exactly that way, and it's not fair to expect for it to be that way because this is the movie and not the book. But it's going to be hard to not be disappointed when they're not there, even when I know they're not all likely to be...most likely some will and some won't. Darn you JK Rowling! Why did you have to make it so awesome and perfect in the book!!! |

Dan in moviePOA will be the closest thing he would be to book!Harry.
He's hair in PoA was just perfect, too bad the butchering of the books really started in PoA -- I still can't decide between PoA and HBP which technically is the better film. *needs to manip the second picture!* __________________
