Yes so there's no work for them but I'm not sure if it's a paid or unpaid holiday for them (my guess is that it ism't). Like today is the Queen's funeral and it's a public declared holiday in the UK except if your employer still require you to go to work, then you'd have to go to work but that would fall under holiday pay.
