Hopefully the other houses became more competitive especially when Gryffindor took the House Cup. It's the same over here with college basketball. A certain college dominated and then suddenly other college teams got better and they were dethroned.

Fun and competitive. The thing with the Triwizard Championship during Harry's time, it was dangerous. Voldemort was out to get Harry and used Barty Crouch Jr., a loyal Death Eater, to get to Harry.
