I was talking about Voldemort & Harry eventually going head-to-head which happened in DH. I expected that will happen but not sure how it was going to play out.

I think it was the same in the book but also they might have changed it up a bit too. I don't remember students being there when McGonagall & Snape fought in the book.

Yes and I vaguely remember Snape & McGonagall did fight in the book but not sure if it's the same as the movie.

This is why I need to re-read the books, they cut out a lot of parts and changed the dialogue too.

They cut out a huge chunk of the beginning chapters of GoF in the movie. And in most of the books except DH, we always start off with the Dursleys.

In GoF the Durselys part was cut and we started with the Triwizard Tournament right away which happened a bit later in the early chapters.
