It's like a marketing move too. To make people think they'd have a huge SL when in fact they actually got very little overall.

I mean case in point with Dom in SW. He did a lot of promos but was only in the movie for a few minutes.

I think that he probably being cautious for next time.. I mean, it seems that they switch around lot of things during SW films which half of cast wasn't happy w/ their own role..
