"Fantasy Adventure. Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was.

I always like the last 2 movies. I like the earlier movies of course but I'm drawn more to darker themes.

I think it's because of the unexpected Dumbledore death for me in HBP. And then Snape's death in DH. Although the books & movies got darker in GoF, with Cedric's death and Voldemort being back.

In book 1 we find out Harry's parents died. Then book 4 it was Cedric. Book 5 was Sirius. Book 6 was Dumbledore. Book 7 was Snape (and some more minor characters like Fred Weasley, Colin Creevey, Remus & Tonks, etc.)
