...ALFONSO! CURSE YOU, ALFONSO! I didn't realize it was totally intended to be two movies - he talked him out of it - what on Earth was he thinking!?

I guess with PoA missing so freaking much he was like "see, you can make it work - just cut out all the stuff that makes the movie make sense to anyone who hasn't read the book...oh, and Rupert, cut him out lots too and you're set, one movie, badabing badaboom!"

...Alfonso and I are seriously in SUCH a fight right now, you have no idea...
Yeah I'm upset about that too...I *LOVED* Alfonso's visual style etc. for PoA...but he cut an awful lot...so for him to have done that...tells me he finds a lot of stuff not crucial...that I do...and now he's convinced Mike Newell similarly...I dunno if I'm as mad at him as you seem to be, but I'm not happy...

Hehe, I just realized that to people who don't know me, that post sounds pretty harsh..."we in a fight" is like, something my friends and I always say - sounds much more serious than it is...

...pay no attention to the crazy R/H obsessed girl posting...rough day yesterday...

I understand you, don't worry I use a lot of vocabulary in my real life that when I speak like that in internet people think I'm rude or hysterical.

Well, I haven't seen PoA yet, only 12 days to go! I'm excited, and you guys are scaring me. I don't know what to expect from the movie. I've seen tons of trailers and scenes, actually I make jokes with my sister telling her "I don't know why I'm going to the cinema if I have already seen everythign in internet" but anyways.. I don't knwo what to expect, and if Alfonso has cut off as many things as you said he has.. mmm.. I'm scared..

hey je12! yes, Katie Leung is Cho , I'm so happy, she seems so cool, but of course I can't judge her until I see her "in motion" have you seen her pictures yet? If not, tell me and I'll post them again here.

Well, I don't know about je12_04, but I would really like to see a pic. I was wondering about what she looked like. So could you post one for me? Please?

Thanks

I agree with the fact that they should try to make the movies as close to the book as possible. But it has been stated that JKR wanted Alfonso to use his own direction but keep idea behind the book......the magic, fantasy, etc the same. Plus she has to approve all the scripts before they are made anyways. So, knowing that JKR approved makes me content.

I must say that I am glad they are keeping GoF to one movie that way we have a chance of keeping DR, RG, And EW as the original leads. There are rumors spreading that they may not be in the final three movies because they are aging faster then their charcters are. THis I do not want to see. I have already grown used to these three as the characters of Ron, Hermione, and Harry. I would be hard to watch others play the characters they basically made come to life from JKR's books.

I can see them being in the last three movies though. OoTP wont be out until 2007 (movie date) but they can still start filming right after GoF is released in 2005. And hopefully book 6 will be out before then so they can start filming on that one right away (if they plan to make movies of all 7 books). Another reason I believe they can pull off the characters all the way to the end is the fact that lots of successful shows have had teenage charcters played by older actors. For example BtVS had the character of Willow a sixteen year old played by Allison Hannigan (around the age of 24). Lots of other actors on that show played chracters well below their actual age.

Thats all I have to say. I just thought I would vent a little on these RUMORS I have been hearing. Hopefully they dont come true.

This is totally off topic but I need HELP!

I'm always on here lurking but hardly ever post but I figured if anyone would be able to help me I'd probably find them here. I'm presenting a speech about HP books and movies on Thursday. Does anyone know of a website where I can get statistics, such as how many copies have been sold, etc?

This is sort of about book sales I think:

It's just a news article. Hope it helps a bit.

Stacey I agree with you. Why could James van der Beek play a 15-year-old Dawson and our kids can't play HP? it's absurd. I think they won't change the actors because we, the fans, have complained a lot about it, even Alfonso said that the kids should stay until the 7th movie. So I firmly believe that they won't change.
