{The Weasleys} ~ You Must Be a Weasley
Welcome to the Burrow! Have a seat, enjoy a drink and celebrate the love and awesomeness that is the Weasley Family. Source: trnzlore "Weasley is the surname of a pure-blood family (though the most recent generation has many non-pureblood members). Their names are Ginny, Ron, Fred, George, Percy, Charlie, Bill, Molly, and Arthur Weasley. The Weasleys know many other wizarding families, including the Blacks, Prewetts, Longbottoms, Crouches, Delacours, and Potters, as well as the Muggle Granger family. All members of the Weasley family are red-haired and Sorted into Gryffindor house upon attendance of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The family home, known as the Burrow, is located just outside Ottery St. Catchpole, in Devon, England. The Weasleys live near other magical families such as the Diggory, Fawcett, and Lovegood families. When Harry Potter befriended Arthur and Molly Weasley's youngest son, Ronald Weasley, the Weasleys became a second family to Harry. The Burrow became Harry's home away from home (he only resided with the Dursley family out of necessity), and Arthur and Molly served as de facto godparents in Sirius Black's absence. They were included in the Sacred Twenty-Eight list, published in the Pure-Blood Directory by the 1930s. However, they deplored their inclusion in the list, because they said the had ancestral ties to many interesting Muggles. Their protests earned these families the opprobrium of advocates of the pure-blood doctrine, and the epithet 'blood traitor'. [...] The Weasleys, unlike many other pure-blood families, willingly associate with Muggles, Muggle-borns, and half-bloods and do not consider themselves superior to others because of their blood status." So, as there's no Weasleys thread, I was allowed to open this one.
The Weasleys really are my favourite wizarding family. I just love how they stick to their beliefs, and are so open minded, believing in doing the right thing. They care for muggles, despite what the other purebloods are saying, and they welcomed Harry and Hermione into their family even before they got married to Ginny and Ron. They're also a typical kind of family if you ask me: arguing and teasing each other, but deeply loving each other, too. __________________

A thread for the Weasleys!
The Weasleys are my absolute favorite wizarding (and fictional) family. I love the whole lot of them. They're a fierce and fearless bunch, and they stand up for what they believe in. They don't do the whole pureblood rubbish, and that really makes me love them even more. They're non-judgemental and caring, and welcome most anyone (like Harry and Hermione) into their family with open arms. Please add me to the list. |

And...you're on the list! I'm happy to see there are others who like them as much as I do! They're so sweet and lovely. I agree with everything you said. I also love that although they were poor all the time, they tried to make the best of it. Molly and Arthur always tried to make sure their kids could go to Hogwarts and had what they needed (even if it wasn't always new or awesome), and the kids never seemed to really complain either.

Hey, what a wonderful idea! Of course this family needs a thread of their own! Thanks for it.
Please add me to the list. I love how Harry had the Weasley family to turn to. It was refreshing. He suffered so much at the hands of his horrible aunt and uncle, cousin. I was so happy when he formed a friendship with Ron and automatically was taken in by his family. Of course, Ginny being his future wife makes it all the more special. |

Yay, I'm happy to see another one who loves them! I thought there had to be a thread for them, because they deserve so much love!
I added you! Yep, I fully agree! They really took care of him, gave him everything he needed and more, and he found his future wife. And they always made sure he felt loved. Amazing examples are in GoF, which I'm currently rereading. I especially love this: 1. Mr. Weasley forcing Uncle Vernon to say bye to Harry. 2. Mrs. Weasley talking so gently to Harry all the time. I think it was at tumblr where someone said that Molly seems to talk to Harry in a softer way because she knows he's an abused child and might take every yelling personal. The person said that might be why she kept on saying 'I'm not mad at you, Harry' in CoS after the twins and Ron brought him to the Burrow, making sure he knew she wasn't mad at him. I love the person's POV, because it fits to Molly. __________________

I agree!
Bill's wedding was a bittersweet moment for them, but still a great one. |

Having your wife bear lot of sons means your 'wand' has substantial length.
And Ginny's the baby, so I guess it was time to pack it in? Good run, Arthur. Good run. |

There is a reason Ron and Ginny are so close in age. Ron couldn't have been more than six months old when Molly got pregnant with Ginny. She wanted a girl, and I think Arthur did as well.

Yep, before the Death Eaters decided to step in, it was actually quite nice!
Aww, Arthur. Such an adorable man! I love how he looked like a comedy figure at times (especially when getting all excited with muggle stuff) but could behave entirely different when angry (like when he asked the Dursleys to say bye to Harry and wouldn't back off). And yep, I agree, I guess they wanted at least one girl, and Ginny was that for them. __________________

Thanks for starting this! Please add me as well. Lovely OP btw.
I love that the Weasleys became Harry's second family. Both Arthur & Molly treated Harry like their own son. And Harry basically got along well with everyone. Heck, Ron was his best friend and he ended up marrying the youngest & only girl in the Weasley clan. __________________
