Kristin from Eonline ran an article today called "Seven Summer Shows You Should Be Watching". Look what's among her picks:

Seven Summer Series You Should Be Watching

Tues Jul 19, 12:00 AM ET

Isn't there anything worth watching this summer? It is the question du jour, is it not? And for good reason. Between the reruns of shows you didn't want to watch the first time and the stinking rotten reality shows that make you want to claw your eyes out, this summer's tube offerings are, frankly, a little pathetic.

Thankfully, though, there are a few series you might not have checked out yet--some because they're coming soon and some you may have simply missed them the first time around, as they fly a little under the radar. I'm here to help/convert you.

6. Wonderfalls (Logo, starts July 28): Behold, the wonder! Like little Stewie of Family Guy before them, the cast of Fox's tragically short-lived Wonderfalls has made a triumphant comeback on the Logo Network. Sadly, they won't be producing any new episodes, but all 13 originals (nine of which never aired in the U.S.) will be shown starting July 28.

Wonderfalls creator Bryan Fuller tells me he's thrilled: "With political conservatives and the religious right peeing themselves about the 'homo problem,' it's an honor to see Wonderfalls be a part of Logo's launch. And since Fox kept telling us we couldn't have two women kiss, it's ironic to land on a network where the ladies can kiss all they want."

Whitney Matheson: Pop Candy - Sometimes, Fox just isn't that into me Whitney Matheson, USA TODAY
Wed Aug 10,11:09 AM ET

Ever since we were introduced, the Fox network and I have had a love-hate relationship.

Like Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, there have been times when we professed eternal devotion to each other, used pet names and considered making illicit videotapes of our love. But that doesn't erase the moments when we seemed to have nothing in common and, ultimately, denied any involvement whatsoever.

Currently, Fox and I are on a break. (As for Pam and Tommy's status, that seems to change hourly.) I decided a trial separation was necessary after the network deleted all traces of short-lived crime drama The Inside from its Web site. An e-mail to Fox confirmed my fears: The show has been pulled from the schedule and replaced with "expanded episodes" of So You Think You Can Dance.

By my estimation, The Inside is at least the 15th series in 15 years Fox has gotten me hooked on, then taken from me against my will. Does that give me enough reason to abandon the network? Sure. But each time I'm prepared to end it all, it manages to lure me back with stories of insect superheroes and horse-riding spacemen. I mean, come on, I'm only human. (Related item: Chat with Whitney at 1 p.m. ET)

As I mourn the loss of Peter Coyote and try to pick up the pieces, here's a brief rundown of 10 other tragic losses during my relationship with the network:

1. Get a Life (1990-92). It feels like Fox has been lurking around forever, but it's really just a teenager, having debuted a primetime lineup in 1987. Get a Life was one of its first shows my teenage eyes fell in love with, thanks to Chris Elliott's character (a 30-year-old paperboy who lived with his parents) and random humor. To this day, I still laugh out loud thinking about the episode in which Elliott and his father build a submarine in the bathroom. Sadly, Fox sank the show after two seasons.

Is it out on DVD? Yes.

Did the cast move on to better things? In Elliott's case, that depends if you liked Cabin Boy. As for young writer Charlie Kaufman, he went on to pen scripts for Being John Malkovich, Adaptation and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Not too shabby.

2. Parker Lewis Can't Lose (1990-1993). High school-based comedies aren't so bad when they include a Ferris Bueller-esque lead, a geek with a magical trench coat and guest appearances by Phil Hartman, Martha Quinn and the cast of Beverly Hills, 90210. Just when the show started to find footing, Fox gave it a permanent vacation.

Is it out on DVD? No. Join the campaign.

Did the cast move on to better things? Sort of. Lewis' biggest success story might belong to Abraham Benrubi, who played gargantuan bully Larry Kubiac. He's worked steadily ever since, and today you may recognize him as Jerry, the ER receptionist.

3. The Ben Stiller Show (1992-93). You had dead-on impersonations of Bono and Tom Cruise. A talented cast that included Janeane Garofalo and Andy Dick. For God's sake, Fox, this show even gave you an Emmy! Who needs ratings?

Is it out on DVD? Yes.

Did the cast moved on to better things? Do you have to ask? Aside from the well-known stars, writers David Cross and Bob Odenkirk went on to create Mr. Show. Writer Judd Apatow later produced two more great-but-cancelled shows, Freaks & Geeks and Undeclared.

4. The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. (1993-94). Cult hero Bruce Campbell(Evil Dead, Bubba Ho-tep) starred as a bounty hunter in the Old West in this show, which also fell victim to poor ratings and poor marketing. While Fox seems to like futuristic Western comedies (see Firefly), it doesn't necessarily know how to promote them.

Is it out on DVD? No, but you can probably find episodes on eBay.

Did the cast move on to better things? Bruce Campbell keeps himself very busy these days with acting gigs and book-signing appearances for his latest title, Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way.

5. Ned and Stacey (1995-1997). Before Dharma and Greg came along, Thomas Haden Church and Debra Messing played two opposites who wed on a whim. The result was much funnier than Dharma and Greg, though Fox didn't get the joke.

Is it out on DVD? Almost. The first season arrives Sept. 20.

Did the cast move on to better things? That's an understatement. Church was nominated for an Oscar last year for Sideways. Messing won an Emmy in 2003 for her role on Will & Grace.

6. Action (1999). The series about a movie executive and a hooker with a heart of gold received rave reviews when it aired, but the viewers didn't follow. (Side note: Action's characters cursed freely but their words were bleeped out, Osbournes-style.) Thirteen episodes were filmed.

Is it out on DVD? No. Start complaining.

Did the cast move on to better things? Well, they're still working. Jay Mohr appears in movies, wrote a book about his Saturday Night Live stint and served as an executive producer for Last Comic Standing. Illeana Douglas recently made a memorable return to Six Feet Under as Angela the undertaker. Erin Daniels now plays tennis pro Dana on The L Word.

7. Undeclared (2001-02). I can't think of another show about college that made me laugh louder or reminded me more of my own experience than this one. Leave it to Fox to can it just when the awkward main character got the girl. In my mind, all six main characters are still living together, chugging beer out of mustard bottles and going to grad school.

Is it out on DVD? The complete series arrives Aug. 16, and it's chock full of extras!

Did the cast move on to better things? Yes, many of the young actors are still working. This fall, Jay Baruchel (Steven) stars with Don Johnson in Just Legal, a new series on the WB.

8. The Tick (2001-02). Before it aired, I couldn't imagine how the comic book could come to life without making some serious sacrifices, but it ended up being as colorful as the original work, literally. Patrick Warburton aced the blue-suited superhero, and as soon as buzz really started to build, Fox squashed it.

Is it out on DVD? Yes.

Did the cast move on to better things? Star Patrick Warburton next appears in the kid flick Sky High. Others haven't had much luck.

9. Greg the Bunny (2002). Like Undeclared and The Tick, Greg the Bunny aired in a post-9/11 era when viewers weren't ready for foul-mouthed puppets and Eugene Levy. Lucky for us, the bunny is back. Three years after its cancellation, the Independent Film Channel is airing new episodes. Might they be interested in resurrecting The Tick, too?

Is it out on DVD? Yes.

Did the cast move on to better things? Well, some of them are on the new Bunny. Star Seth Green hasn't taken a breath, and recently created the hilarious Adult Swim show Robot Chicken.

10. Wonderfalls (2004). Apparently, a show that involved talking objects, Niagra Falls and gift-shop culture was ahead of its time. I'm still upset the network canned it before airing a sure-to-be classic episode featuring Golden Girls' Rue McClanahan.

Is it out on DVD? Yes, McClanahan included.

Did the cast move on to better things? Poor Katie Finneran had a regular gig on The Inside until recently. Tracie Thoms (Mahandra) appears in the upcoming film adaptation of Rent.

So here's where you come in. From my experience, I can tell you two things about the Fox network: In the fall, it will tease us with plenty of promising shows whose days may be numbered. (Among them: Kitchen Confidential, Prison Break, Bones and Head Cases.)

If you like what you see, be prepared to fight to keep it on the air. Fox and I have had our differences, but I've realized it's a relationship worth saving.

All this time later and people are still writing into tv critics about it:

TV guide's Ask Ausiello:

Question: I don't care what anyone says, I love your "rude" comments. If people keep asking dumb questions (anything regarding Tru Calling, for instance), they deserve to have you making comments about them. So keep up the great work. Now, when is Fox bringing back The Inside and Wonderfalls? — Travis T.

Ausiello: The Inside returns a week from never, and Wonderfalls goes back into production when yo mama starts shaving her pits. (You set me up, you bitch!)

My apologies for the abbreviated AA this week. Due to the Fourth of July holiday, I had only a few hours to pull this together before I went out and got plastered. Next week, I'll be back to my normal length. (Tee-hee. That sounded dirty.)
