How are you spending your summer vacation?

So, folks, how are y'all spending your summer vacation? Any William Sadler sitings out there? (Hint: Look north, my children, look north!)

Me, I'm getting ready for the dubious pleasure of celebrating my 50th birthday. If any of you are in the Chicago area, the party's at my place. My sweet baboo is throwing me a birthday gala. You don't get to be half-a-century old very often, you know!

Would that be so far north we should take our passports with us,Ms. C. ? And are we talking a movie or a series? (we know you can't SAY anything yet but...Just nod your head once for a movie, twice for a series) .

And not to worry,I hear 50 is the new 30.
I know I'm having more actual fun now than I did when I was 30...so don't be afraid to dive in...the water's fine.

Good thing you've scouted ahead for the rest of us, Berry!

Alas, my lips are sealed, I can say no more! I don't think. I'll call Bill later today and check for updates.

My vacation today is going to consist of taking Jake for his driver's license test. I don't know whether to keep my fingers crossed that he passes or not. I have the typical parental fear of "Oh,no, is the world ready for THIS teen to take to the road??!!"

Hope Bill will be ready to share some news soon. Wouldn't want any wild, crazy rumors to start because we're so BORED!

I'm stuck at work. I'm going to spend the only week of summer vacation in Croatia. Any chance to meet Bill there?

That's an interesting question...aside from the USA & Canada where we know Bill has frequently filmed before....has Bill done any projects in other countries?

Yes, indeed. He's done work in England, and I believe that Solo was filmed in Mexico. I suspect there were others -- I'll ask him.

Back when his daughter, Sadler, was a bright-eyed blonde cherub of seven, Bill and family went up to Canada to film the pilot for a potential series. As always happens, they were asked why they were going to Canada by the folks at the airport -- young Sadler pops up and cheerfully announces, "My daddy's going to shoot a pilot!"

Needless to say, Mom and Dad had some 'splaining to do!

Sadler must wonder if she is EVER going to live that down!

The story I tell on my daughter is how when she was quite little I had made sure that she knew her name, address, phone number etc. Sure enough,we're in a department store and I lose sight of her. I spend endless minutes searching for her and finally find her with the store detective. They told me they hadn't used the loud speaker system to say they had a lost child because they couldn't get any info from her. I was surprized. I said "What did you ask her?" They said "We asked her who she was here with and she said her Mother...we asked what her Mother's name is and she said "Mommy".

Added that crucial bit of info to her repertoire and we never had a repeat problem.

Of course, if you'd impressed on her the need to never talk to strangers, you'd have been screwed no matter what!

I'm pretty much spending my hot, humid, sticky summer dreaming of getting away. I went to the bank and ordered some English pounds so I would have a little spending money for my trip to London in October. I actually can't believe I'm going . I'm meeting up for a dinner with some James Marsters fans...there will be 18 of us....so far! Then we have 2 concerts and 2 theatrical events with James. Also Anthony Stewart Head (who played Giles) is there in a play at the same time. I hope to get to that as well. Ben is looking forward to the sight-seeing. And I'm willing to do that...but he's going to have trouble prying me away from the West End!

To bring this back to Bill....am looking forward to having another opportunity to get together with Bill fans someday,so we can go and support one of his projects. Field trip, anybody??!!

My son finally got his driver's license yesterday...and I got the sticker shock today. Talked to the insurance company and it will cost $1800 to add him to the policy! Man,that kid needs a job!

Whoa ... another reason to be happy I avoided reproduction! Not that I don't have my moments when I think it might have been nice -- but other people's sticker shock usually snaps me right out of it.
