The Newbie / Oldie Thread -- Stop in and say hello!

Hi, campers!

It occurred to me that we need a thread where folks stopping by for the first time can say "howdy!" and introduce themselves. Likewise, we need a thread where wizened oldsters such as yours truly can say, "Welcome" and tell a little bit about themselves.

This is that thread.

Me, I'm Ms Carolyn, sometimes known as Mama C, usually when I'm feigning a bad Italian dialect and talking about Da Valentos (a name which Bill's fans have on occasion called themselves). I share the mod duties around these parts with Berengaria, and like to think that we have the most laid-back modship on FF. Bill's highly opposed to censorship, so as long as no one tells somebody else to do unmentionable things to themselves that involve appropriately-shaped garden vegetables, we're pretty cool with it, as long as it falls within FF's guidelines.

So have fun, everybody! Invite your friends to come by and join us. Let's get us a party going around here!

Ms. Carolyn

, Ms Carolyn. Love the bit about the vegetables. Does fruit count?

I'm Jodi. Mom of two kids, two dogs, and a cat who thinks she's a dog. I'm also a wife to a hubby who thinks my obsession with all things Roswell is cute. I suppose it could be worse. I could be obsessed with prunes or something (again with the fruit).

Anyway, i head up RoswellMovie.net and have a damn fun time doing it. I also love to read and i write when the mood strikes me. I love a good movie. As long as the ending is happy, i'm fine. I will NEVER watch "Pay It Forward" again. I was so mad when that ended. It was sooo good up till then!

OK, i'm rambling. I tend to do that when the bananas are in season.

Welcome all newbies and howdy to all of the oldies.

what's "Pay it forward"?
I just came home from the pictures -- "Underworld". Well, I swear they stole the set from "Tomb Raider" and the costumes from "Matrix" - they didn't need to steal the story because there hardly was any. but hej. whatever. Sorry - that wasn't my funn(i)est rambling. Please don't throw any Dutch tomatoes at me.

No stranger than anyone else here,Kirsty!
(it's all right,I can tease her,we are fellow waitresses,right,K? )

Well,Hi,all! I'm Kate,a Roswellian "of a certain age" (...who was that muttered "Ancient Roswellian"?!!! )
Anyhoo,I live in Florida and I have 3 children,2 grown up girls...one's a chef and one's a Coast Guard Officer....and a 16 year old son who is in high school. I was mad about "Roswell",especially how the Jim Valenti character was developed, and that led me to finding out about lots more of Bill Sadler's past projects which turned out to be quite an eclectic array of films. I also got to see him in a play he did in NYC. It was called "A Few Stout Individuals". Bill played Mark Twain. He was fantastic in it. I can't wait to see "Wonderfalls" and I have no doubt that we will be seeing many more interesting projects fr4om Mr.V. in the days to come.

Howdy there I guess I'd be a oldie... But I'm here, so I guess that is all that matters.

Ok My name is Cordelia, I'm 16 from Ohio(USA). I live with my mother and our 3 pain in the ass dogs. I have one sister, who has two children..

michael, 4 years old

tori, 1 month old

I'm homeschooled, currently in the 10th grade. My best friend, Michelle and I are movie junkies, we atleast have to go out and see a movie once a week, and rent the rest of the week.

I was an all-star soccer player, I was on my way on to England to join up with them but I got hurt badly and Im not alloud to play anymore, which sucks so bad, everyday I wish I could just go for a run and be able to play again. But my mother and doctors will not let me. Funny story actually its been 1 year since my injury, and i went to a friends house, and begged them to play soccer with me, and we did, we were out there for a good 4 hours, but half way through I collasped...i was rushed to the hospital, my mom about killed me when she found out. i ended up tearing almost all the tendons in my knee a ripped the muscle. now if i go any where my mom calls ahead and tells them do not allow me to do anything doesnt life just suck!

other than that I have two domains and other little websites.. http://foolish-desires.net http://benjamin-mckenzie.com http://foolish-desires.net/gc (girl crush clique) http://foolish-desires.net/bc (breakfast club webring (s&s OC) )

i also am a LoTR junkie...totally have the hots for Legolas

Ice Queen Follower.., I'm sorry to hear about your predicament. It must be so frustrating. If its any consolation,I remember that James Marsters(who plays "Spike" on "Buffy" and on "Angel",had a childhood injury to his leg that was so serious he spent a year in bed! And now he is known for all those stunts and fight scenes (and I know he has a stunt man but I am told he does a lot of it himself). My point is...listen to Mom and the Doctors...they are on your side...this too shall pass and there are brighter days ahead.

Kirsty & Kate - hej girls!

Cordy - sorry to hear about your injury. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it'll get better and everything will be alright.

I just recognised that I didn't introduce myself. so in case anyone's interested...

I'm Nina, a very tired college student struggling with her master thesis. Most people think my major -> Soil Science <- is the most boring thing ever, but I totally disagree. It's hard to convince anyone at the moment though because I feel pretty boring, since I spent every hour of the day on my computer because of my thesis. Other than that I'm into ballet and aerobics. I love to read and my favourite shows at the moment are "Judging Amy" and "Joan of Arcadia".
Concerning Bill Sadler, I have to say that I loved his character on Roswell and was very sad when they didn't make much use of him at the end of S2 and then during S3. Jim Valenti had so much potential. But since that's over now, I'm looking forward to downloading 'Wonderfalls' - since it's highly unlikely we'll get it here. German TV sucks!
