Recommendations for First Beatles Album

Hi all, my nieces turns 18 shortly (about 2 weeks away) and on holidays visits has indicated her interest in the Beatles. My dilemma is what would be a good album for her, keeping in mind that I have been a following them for what’s seems an eternity, I would appreciate some suggestions from fans closer to her age.

Well, if it's just to start with, maybe you could introduce the albums chronologically, too. Start with the less mature but more fun songs just to get them hooked first, so "Please Please Me."

Hm. That's a good question. Personally, I love Rubber Soul. It's still fun but has a good deal of maturity to it, as well. Plus, 'Norwegian Wood' and 'In My Life'? Need I say more? But, that's just my opinion.

Chronological order, like Andie suggested would be cool, too.

Thanks for that, I now need to think on this a bit more, your views have added a little more difficulty to the selection, but are very appreciated.

Yes, I have a major thing for the sitar. At Beatles Fest, at the first concert, they had a guy on the sitar and he was amazing. He did Waltzing Matilda and it was mind-blowing.

I don't think so. But it was all just so amazing. The sitar always gives me shivers.

Aww. There are Beatles gigs like that here, too, but they usually concentrate on the rock 'n roll.

One of my roommates plays music all day, rather quietly but not too quiet not to hear, from her room. For the last few days, she's been playing the "1" album. I asked her if she had any other Beatles albums. Upon hearing that she did not, I burned a copy of "Revolver" for her. She's now playing it.

I feel so good.

I know what you mean. What I do myself, actually, is just play them all day while I'm working on the computer until even my roommate learns the songs by heart and even gets them stuck in her head in school.

Well I only live with my mum and she lived through it all. So she already knows most of the songs.
