Counting forever and taking care of Dawn and probably Dawn’s children if she had any. He’d protect the whole line, keeping his promise to Buffy :bawl:

Plus Spike cared about Dawn. I think even loved her like a little sister.:bawl::love:

Spike even took care of her friends too.

Spike was the only one that wasn't willing at all to kill Dawn in The Gift.
