Topic of the week: "What has been David's most powerful performance?"

Hey guys this is a new idea that i got from some people basically we come up with new topics to discuss about David every week. So i'll start a new one every monday and we'll discuss it up until the next monday. So the question states "What has been David's most powerful performance? It can be from anything he has done. Thanks to moonie for the question idea If any of you have any suggestions for a topic feel free to pm me or post it here.

The most powerful performance I believe David has done was when he was on Buffy the Vampire slayer in the episode Passion. He was Angelus at the time and i feel that David's performance moved me. He was so into his character. I dont think any other actor can pull off playing a good guy and a bad guy like David does. His acting was amazing, and believable.

I completely agree Karen I also think David an awesome job in BTVS Innocence. He was really good there but his ultimate has to be Passions

ok, don't shoot the messenger here, peeps.

I agree that Passion and Innocence were a *GREAT* indication of David's ability. now, I kinda like him in the 'Bones' eppy 'The Soldier on the Grave." Booth had to deal with his past as a snipper, and in the last scene, David knocked it out of the ballpark. he said his monologue with such emotion, several of us were crying every time we watched it.

it's actually a tie for me cause in "Two Bodies in the Lab" on 'bones', when Brennan was kidnapped, and he left the hospitl AMA to find her, he easily conveyed Booth's growing affection for her. at one point, he had what I like to call an 'Angel moment'. they were searching for her, and the look he gave was *PURE* Angel... plus, when he found her? it's a scene that will always be in my mind as a Great TV Moment. JMO.

I agree with everyone here. "Passion & Innocence" are AMAZING examples of David's talent. His whole portrayl as Angelus in BTVS season 2 still blows me away to this day. How he can turn it "on" and turn it "off".... Be able to go Angel to Angelus like that......leaves me in awe. The most amazing moment on TV to me was in Becoming Part 2.. right when Buffy was about to take him out and the spell went through him. As Angelus turns back into Angel..... Angel slowly looks up and there are tears in his eyes. How David was just playing the truly evil Angleus a mintute ago and how he was able to capture the character of Angel the next minute is beyond me.

Now on the other hand... David as Booth.. ...it really gives us a chance to David act like never before... Especially with the comedy. Now David can DO humor. His sometimes overwhelmingly(he somtimes is too much for me to handle, *hehe*) funny and charming presence on Bones is what makes his character so great. And believe me David is amazing at the emotinal stuff more than ever now. I've never seen anyone more expressive with just using his eyes. And like Francie says.. As Booth cries to Brennan in Two Soilders on the Grave".. you can really see how far he's come. While I believe David always has been a wonderful and not to mention underrated actor.......I think he is a more confidant now in his performances....and he has come to be that rare kind of actor you see on screen that manages to have charimsa in EVERY scene he's in. He draws you in.. and makes the scene come alive.....and It blows my mind how he has the ability to do that.

couldn't have voiced it better myself, Shauna!

he *has* come a long way... don't get me wrong; I'll watch him in 'Buffy' and when I see him in eppys like 'Passions' and 'Innocence' I TOTALLY agree with everything every1 has said. he was AMAZING in them. but for me, eppys like 'Soldier on the Grave' and 'Two Bodies in the Lab' *really* show how far he's come, just like you said. it blows my mind, too, that with *one* look, he's able to convey so *many* emotions. he is, as you say, that rare kind of actor you see on screen that manages to have charimsa in EVERY scene he's in. makes me him even more; if that's possible.
