Boy Meets Curl - Episode Discussion
From The Simpsons Archive
Boy Meets Curl Episode #MABF05 "The Simpsons are going to..." Vancouver, to compete in the 2010 Olympics ER, UH, "Vancouver Games" when Homer, Marge, Principal Skinner, and his mother win the right to represent the USA in curling, thanks to Marge being a natural at the sport (and in spite of Homer being a natural disaster), but will Marge put winning before her husband and have him replaced with someone better (like, say, Bart - no, wait, that's "Tennis the Menace")?; Lisa gets involved in collectible pin trading - a little too involved. |
I really enjoyed last night`s episode. It was about the best parody of the Winter Olympics i`ve ever seen. Having Bob Costas guest starring in it and mocking himself and NBC really put it over the top. Plus with it being Valentine`s Day, it had plenty of great Homer/Marge stuff in it.

I really liked that Homer and Bart were essentially good guys in this episode. It's a nice change up.
The Canadian Milhouse and Nelson were great, as was Moe and the Curlies. :D |
Thanks for the comments. I'll have to check it on Hulu.

double post - bah

I saw the episode today and thought it was very good. I laughed throughout the entire show. It was great they got Bob Costas to commentate, just like he did in the real Olympics.
One of my favorite quotes was when Marge suggested they go skating as a hand-holding activity. Homer says, "Do we use mittens or do we go commando?" |
Yah it was good I agree, seems these days Bart's the better child over Lisa, how sadXD
|
Well, he did scam the scammer for the pearls, but he definitely was the more responsible between the two.
|
Yah, to think the supposivly responsible child LOL.
|
Yeah, but that's compared to Lisa, who wound up wearing pins. No dress, they were all pins!
|
That Lisa. Better keep your kids away from her. :P
|
I thought the way the Olympic torch was lit could have been viable in the real Winter Olympics.
|
The one big complaint I do have about this episode was when Agnes Skinner relayed the story of being pregnant with Seymour when she competed in the Helsinki Olympics. I couldn't keep thinking about the episode where we found out that Seymour wasn't the real Seymour (real last name was Tanzarian).

I've been playing this video at work while testing software. It's even funny without sound.
|
So the Wiggums were wearing matching speed skating outfits?
