I wonder if they had planned it from the start. Has Brent had an exit interview where it was mentioned if he knew it was going to be a one season deal or when he knew his character would be killed off?

I'm not sure if he did or not. If he did, I can't find it now. It might've been shared in the news thread if there was one?
From what I can see he hasn't said one way or another. But it is possible he was only having the one season deal. He may have even known from the start how things would end

Thank you for checking. I can't remember if I checked the news thread or not. I might have a quick look when I get to that thread.

From what I found when googling, Brent wanted to pursue other projects, so that's why he was killed off.

Yes. I was more curious on the when behind the scenes parts as there are so many possibilities.

I can get why someone wants to leave a show but I think it was too drastic in killing him. He could have stayed in a coma....

True but he wasn't the old. I mean I'd not seen him in anything but L&O and if you're trying to break into more movies, I just think it's smarter to leave another door open. So being in a coma would have been better career wise if movies didn't go his way.

Perhaps but I don't know if he'd struggle to find new work either.

^ that's what was up in the air I think, not knowing if he'd do better in film or not.

A lot of people commit themselves completely to certain career paths, even if it means closing the door to former ones.

I don't know what to make of this character. They seem to be pushing him & Jet together from the start though

That's very true

Over all I liked the character and while he and Jet seemed pushed together, we didn't really get 'them' in moments IMO.
