I feel that he wants to be with that girl because she doesn't judge him like the other two do, but I feel zero chemistry between them.

My main problem with him is that I don't believe his showing he's good and different from his parents. I just don't believe him, it looks like he's trying to convince himself

and people hated him and still do for that. I guess he felt he couldn't connect anymore with Julien and saw something fresh and new in Zoya, since she didn't knew him completely and he liked it.

Sure, he does that again towards the end of the season (he finds an new girl), so I guess that's the way he behaves normally.
