Season 1 General Discussion Thread  Developed by showrunner Joshua Safran, a writer and executive producer on the original series, this extension of the pop culture classic takes us back to the Upper East Side to find a new generation of New York private school teens being introduced to social surveillance, nine years after the original blogger’s website went dark. The series is based on the bestselling novels by Cecily von Ziegesar and the original show, developed by Josh Schwartz & Stephanie Savage, which ran from 2007-2012 on The CW. Right?? They have great photographers indeed plus the cast is so photogenic
 also they can always manage to catch a glimpse of the character, it's a nice collab between the photographers and the actors__________________

I talked about it with a friend and she said:
Ravenclaw Aki and Kate Griffyndor Zoya and maybe Max Slytherin Luna Hufflepuff Maybe Max I think this has more sense than the HBO ideas at first I thought Kate was a Gryffindor, but Ravenclaw maybe suits her better. Max imho is a Gryffindor.__________________

Not as bad as I thought it'd be to watch (for me watching teachers cross the line). I don't know what to make of it still though. It will be interesting to see what they do next. Some of the characters have annoyances but you get that with all shows. Unfortunately it is their chosen storylines that screw them up too. Plus with GG you expect to get annoyed at people & for them to be messed around with

I liked it way more than the OG (except for the thouple thing, but after all I'm kinda used at being mad when it's about GG ships)
I had high expectations and it didn't disappoint me. Sure, as you say there are annoyances, but it happens in every show. True, you expect that! I would have been surprised of the contrary (same for the ship wars)  Was there a thing you liked the most?  of course I'll let you know __________________

I don't know which I like more
 . I think I'd have to rewatch the OG & see how I feel there...I don't know. Sorry, I'm no help here . I surprised myself in liking how they explored Gossip Girl as a character from the start. I wasn't sure on who it was & them telling you from the start & that change, but they've done really well with it.__________________

Even though shipping wise they're both bad for the way they made/make me feel
overall I prefer the reboot, because it's not focused on a single couple with all the other character as extras. We'll see if in S2 I'll change my mind I liked that too  I had some doubts too when I knew we were going to find out about it in the first episode, but then it was cool.__________________
