He should, but Safran said that first there's the character's needs, the continuity. If it's okay then he can do whatever he wants, of course. They don't even film in order, often they reshoot things. I get that he had to keep it, his character was born this way. I could see a change in S3, if we have it.

Monet will change a lot, but just because she uses wigs.

They could still find a way to make it work but I guess they have a short period of filming & crossover a bit with filming out of order... But surely a point in S2 they could've made it work to respect actors choice

Safran said that between S1 ans S2 there was too little time and that Aki wouldn't have surely wasted time to dye his hair instead of enjoying his new "exciting" relationship. When I saw him in Rome he was more blond than pink, the dye had faded a lot, for example (I think he maybe changed the kind? Because he had done it the week before coming to Italy and a week later it had already faded).

Evan went to light blue for a few days months ago, everyone thought also Aki had changed the color, but no, he went back to pink.

I don't know, for me Aki should always be pink because it's the way I first saw him. It would have been like Serena going red or black. I agree that it must fit the story first and I can see Aki changing only after a big thing, like a break up for example. He seems to be a guy who likes routine, his habits, I can't see him - at least for now - as someone who changes a lot.

But if pink takes that much to maintain, then Aki wouldn't need to waste time to change it up. That logic makes no sense when the time taken to maintain the pink would be the same if not more to change the look . But I guess you're right about habit... that does fit Aki

Well, technically it's Evan who said it was demanding, not Aki maybe for the character isn't a problem or he likes it anyway, preferring it to his natural hair.

Personally I've always find interesting that Aki didn't want to stick out, but he had decided, at some point in his life, to dye his hair PINK. Like not a simple bleaching, no, a full pink.

He also chose pink, which isn't typically seen as a boys colour not the best way to not draw attention to yourself

He said it because people asked him why in S2 Aki didn't start with black/natural hair and the reply makes sense, because S2 starts a few weeks after 1x12, so a time that we can imagine him spending time with the other two. Then I guess it's just that he likes the color, so he keeps it.

The funny thing is that the bet Evan lost required that he just had a buzzcut. Then a friend of his suggested him to add some color and he chose pink he changed a few times, I think (lime green, bright fuchsia, light blue), but he went always back to pink. Aki was written when he already had that color.

Maybe he has a side that wants to be seen, but still he remains an introvert. Pink to me can be linked to his soft side.

To me it makes sense, just maybe he could have added that Aki likes to keep the color

Also it's possible that Evan wanted to change for keep acting, he said he had a movie to do (but honestly I don't know if he was joking, since he said that it was an action/romantic movie, but then he added that he was starring in a Spiederman movie or something ), with pink hair isn't easy to find roles where you can keep it.

Confident and "self-determinated" Aki sounds nice I'm curious to see him standing more for himself. Can't wait to see him embracing the king he is I just hope he won't neglect Max too much


Evan's story about the poster, he's always so excited and nice towards everyone, he's so proud of the work they do. It was the same with S1.
