I Thought Davis was a good person but i guess back then he had issues
It was fun to see them go undercover |
Copy/paste from the campaign board :)
I liked Aki and Rex more than I expected! They're cute and I liked to see Aki having his first secret crush reveal, I bet there are more students that have always liked him. The flirting was so nice to see, also him saying that yes, he found Rex hot. Also the scene in the car, the hands and his little anxiety at his first date! Not a fan of his jealousy for Audrey with the barista, especially when he's fine with her thinking at Max while having sex with him or directly kissing Max and having sex with him in front of him. Anyway their scene with Audrey getting him the date to me is a proof that they work the best together as friends or platonic lovers. But as a couple, damn, I don't like them at all and all their cheesyness to me always look more like they're trying to convince themselves they're such amazingly and deeply in love. Poor Max :( I liked a lot the scene with Pops, he's so soft when he's in love and the song choice at the last scene was :bawl: I liked Julien trying her best to give those women justice, too bad in GG nothing goes ever smoothly, so Kate made a disaster - but it wasn't her fault, like he couldn't know what she was saying. Liked the scenes with Julien, Zoya and Obie, although it felt a little awkward. DAVIS WITH THE PHONE OMG, is he going to delete the texts?? Yeah, it's fun and I was anxious  like OMG they're going to be found! And yes, Davis is a bad person, but they hid it very well :look: |
i have to agree with you with aki and audrey
max and his pops was sweet hope to catch up on the rest |
Safran said that Roy (Pops) story - the one he tells Max in this episode - is inspired by a real story of a person he knows.
I'm behind with episodes too  there's plenty of time |

Just when I was ready to bang my head against the wall with whatever this weird thing with Aki & Audrey is at the Cafe I got sidetracked because I knew the music in the background. Wrapped In Red by Kelly Clarkson
I prefer to focus on that than whatever they are doing with those two. Right now I don't have words for that mess. I guess it is meant to just be them exploring what his sexuality reveal means but ugh Very clever idea to trick GG for where Julien was. Same for the media Max in this episode :bawl: the talk in the garden was beautiful though Poor Kate unintentionally filming the wrong moment & still ending up hurting Julien |
Oh right, it's written in the soundtrack pic above! I only know a few songs of her, so I didn't notice. What the song is about? Because Audrey in that scene was there to not let Aki run away from his date with Rex  then of course she took advantage of that and went out with the barista (spoiler: you'll see him again this season).
Yeah, I guess the idea was to show that Audrey is supportive and lets Aki explore. In this episode they try to open their relationship, but you know I hated the way they treated Max. I know that they probably thought it was just sex for him so he wouldn't care, but their insensivity was so annoying. I already said it, but even if the whole fandom hates Rex (and I admit I did too, when I saw the filming pics of this episode, the scene with Audrey outside the café), I found them cute! What do you think? Quote:

Wrapped in Red is a love/Christmas song from her first Christmas album. Inspired by her now ex-husband. It did & didn't fit the seen. Lyrics like "I'm got a risk it all", "I'm not afraid to fall", & "in all this white, you'll see me like you've never seen me yet" could fit the scene. But knowing the full song, not so much. It puts a different spin on it, which is interesting.
I am stuck on bisexual doesn't mean you need the other gender, an open relationship, ect. It can though & it is nice she is letting him figure things out. It just also makes me want ro bang my head against a wall. Maybe if Aki at one point told Audrey that being bi didn't mean he had to have both I would feel better about it? But there is a part of him that wants to explore being with males so that wouldn't fit too. I liked both of their dates, I just didn't like the storyline. In this episode you got to really see what being GG can do to the person running it. A nice touch |

The perfect song for the perfect scene in this episode is Traitor, because they even put the lyrics "you betrayed me" when Max turns his head and looks at Aki and Audrey, but also the full song suits them in that moment and how Max feels. Quote:
Somehow when they end up choosing each other at the end, it's like he did say her that, isn't it? Like it was more them seeing if they needed to break up and find a new person, than exploring a sexuality. "We don't need other people, we just need each other" or something like that, they say. this is clearer in episode 10, where they try to find a "third", but they aren't satisfied by any of the candidates. The open relationship is something you can easily want to suggest them anyway in the pilot already, even before knowing Aki is bisexual, since the problems they have. It seems crazy to me to have such problem at 16 - SIXTEEN - I mean at that age life is mostly black and white, open relationships are more an adult thing to me, not something that you consider at 16, where even looking at someone else or texting can be seen as cheating by your partner. But honestly is also crazy that a couple of teens looks for a third person to have sex with on dating apps on the internet, so I guess the whole point is useless  Quote:

I am not surprised about that Rex line. I HATED it. That probably set off my annoyance in the episode
Jamison was a flat character but I preferred it to Aki/Audrey |
At least Aki replied and didn't just laugh or said nothing. Wondering if the writers did it on purpose, because the writers room is full of queer people. I don't know how many are bi, but I guess they knew it's an horrible thing to say. I'm not queer and I was like WHAT??
Same  |
Sometimes it is good to show horrible lines as it gets people talking & thinking. I am sure they knew exactly what they were doing
|
Yeah, like it was with Audrey and the "it's not normal" line. Just with her they somehow fixed it at the end of the episode, here I doubt Rex changed his perception of bisexuality, though :look:
Oh I already said it I'm sure, but I like that someone had a secret crush on Aki, he deserves it :melt: I hope there are more! |
