I love that episode. I think mine might be That Damn Donna Reed for all the great Luke and Lorelai moments.

That episode gets a lot of flack because of the Rory and Dean stuff, but ignoring that it's great.

It's peak season 1 LL. The chemistry between them was on fire.

Haha yes, that's a good way to put it. I think had they kept up that tension at the season 1 levels beyond that, it would make it less believable of them taking until thr end of season 4 before getting together. So they had to draw it back a bit.

Those are both great LL episodes.

It was great for sure. But I get the pulling back. And it was still there, just not as..... BAM in your face, I guess.

I'm back to starting off yet another rewatch and I'm on season 1. Just finished watching Rory's Birthday Parties. Definitely one of the highlights of the season.

Yes, they had to pull it back a bit to not rush them into a relationship after getting season pickups. It makes sense that they’d amp up the tension in season 1 because they didn’t know if the network would pick them up for another season.

It’s funny how many times I’ve watched this season because I always start with the desire to watch the series again but I inevitably get distracted and leave my rewatch until I swing back around to it and pick it up again from s1.

I get that. I've done that with other shows. GG I manage to always push through. But I have my pattern set. I know the episodes and scenes I'm going to skip and what I like to focus on (LL).

Sometimes I only watch the Luke and Lorelai scenes so I'm not really doing a full re-watch of the show, but I'm in it for them.
