Aww, I just reached the scene with Rory & Tristan in season 1 at the piano. Such a lovely scene between the two of them! He was actually vulnerable for the first time and Rory has such a big heart, seeing him so troubled and going to him to chat their mutual failed relationships.

It just reminds me how much I would've liked to have had that character & his relationship with Rory fleshed out more.

Tristan will always remain in my top 3 favorite characters. Honestly, I probably always loved him more than Trory.

I totally get why Chad has said that Tristan was his alltime favorite character. It was just all there in his acting too. Definitely his best role!

If he ended up with one other girl from the show, who would you have preferred him with? Any season.

I'd pick Paris. Though I've also liked the idea of her and Jess. And her and Logan

Funny you should ask. Since I quit Rory due to my 11 year long frustration with her, I switched to Francie. She's in my current WIP (though the story of his parents are stealing the show).

I know she isn't a popular character, but there's as much freedom with her as there is with Tristan, and more. Maybe she's rich, or not. Would the queen bee and the so called 'king' of Chilton get along, or hate each other? She's in a kind of middle ground as far as type of girl- she cares about skirt length and makeup (like Madeline and Louise, who found Tristan attractive) but was also in school government (like Paris and Rory, who weren't his biggest fans), so Francie's feelings on Tristan are a mystery.

I get to decide it all.

So that's for my writing. But to be honest, if his gaze had landed on any other girl at the winter formal- Louise, Paris, literally any girl, I'd have rooted for him to get that girl. It had very little to do with Rory (especially since it was the first episode I saw).

I really love the idea of Francie! What's a WIP though? Have you posted this story yet anywhere? I'd be interested to read.

I can't picture Tristan with Louise or Madeline. Maybe him coming back with Stephanie in season 5, popping up in the LDB, since she's another character that was never really explored.
