Gilmore Girls is a long-running, Emmy Award winning, and Golden Globe nominated American television drama/comedy created by Amy Sherman-Palladino and starring Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel. The series premiered on The WB on October 5, 2000 and ended on May 15, 2007, with its seventh season, which aired on The CW Television Network.

The show follows single mother Lorelai Victoria Gilmore (Graham) and her daughter Lorelai "Rory" Leigh Gilmore (Bledel) in the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut, a close-knit small town with many quirky characters, located roughly thirty minutes from Hartford. The series explores family, friendship, generational divides, and social class.

Gilmore Girls features intricate, extremely fast-paced dialogue, with frequent popular-culture references and allusions to politics and high culture. It also features subtle social commentary, which is manifest most clearly in Lorelai's difficult relationship with her wealthy upper class parents. Lorelai also has relationship problems with Luke Danes (Scott Patterson) who owns the local diner, with the best coffee.

The cast of 2005’s The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants reprise their roles in the Alcon Entertainment sequel, out Aug. 8, 2008.

Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls) as Lena, America Ferrera (Ugly Betty) as Carmen, Amber Tamblyn (Joan of Arcadia) as Tibby and Blake Lively (Gossip Girl) as Bridget all return for The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2.

This is the film America had second thoughts about starring in but the film’s producers exercised their sequel option, so she wound up joining the project anyway. But hey look, America and Amber fit into one graduation gown!

Sanaa Hamri directed the film. She’s known for her music videos: Prince’s “Musicology” and Mariah Carey’s “Crybaby” and “Bringing On The Heartbreak”.
