The speech was great but a little too late. Luke really bugged me in s6. I wanted to scream at him to just talk to Lorelai about April! She’d understand. And then she may have not felt the need to turn to Chris. Ugh I need some happy Luke after this heartache.

The speech wouldn't have been too late and they could have worked on things, had Lorelai not slept with Chris. That was what really broke things. Luke didn't even have a chance to process, before Lorelai was in Chris' bed.

I totally agree, that was what broke things then. It would have for me if I'd have been Luke. It's still unbelievable she went to Chris right away and ended up in his bed. What a crap. And that 'just' because of the April story... Something that ruined my favorite ship for me forever. After that moment, nothing felt like that show I knew anymore.

I'm glad they were able to forgive each other. Especially Luke, forgiving Lorelai. I feel that what Luke did was awful, but that is something that can be worked on, if the two of them would just talk. Lorelai needed to tell Luke how she felt and not bundle it up, and Luke needed to be woken up and realise what he was doing was wrong. But Lorelai sleeping with Chris is a much harder thing to forgive someone for. It shows just how much Luke loved Lorelai though and really did want to be with her, despite what she thought, that he did forgive her and move on from it.

I hated Lorelai turning to Chris and sleeping with him but I actually understood why she did what she did. I hated even more how Chris preyed on her vulnerable state! Ugh, anyway, back to happy times Luke building an ice rink for Lorelai to repair her relationship with snow.

I can't understand why she turned to him. The door to Chris and turning to him should have been closed, after his actions at the vow renewal. She regressed by doing that and yes, of course, Chris is the worst for taking advantage of her. I don't care that she went to him and that there was no drinking involved, so she was sober etc and made that choice on her own. He took advantage of her while she was in a state where she was emotionally vulnerable and I blame him for what happened more than I do Lorelai.

I'm glad Luke punched his slimy face. Go Luke!
