It's what Rory asked him why he wasent applying himself lol sarcastically. I dont get why fans say he is smart because he reads I read a lot but I am terrible at math although I have gotten better with the kids and it didnt teach me chemistry.

You can read a lot, but it depends on what you read. If all you read is trashy romance books, what are you going to learn?

I can't remember his name, but it is a well known name who stated every night before he went to sleep he read a page of the dictionary, a page of the bible, a page of an encyclopedia every night.

Ftr, I read romance novels, I wouldn't ever call them trashy. I also read classics and books that provide me with new perspectives on life and death and everything else in between. Reading stimulates my mind and imagination and provides such an escape from the stress I face IRL. I like the fact that Jess reads but I question what he actually gleans from reading those novels? He doesn't ever really go in depth on thematic elements provided in all those books he reads, so that doesn't really show me his intelligence.

I was trying to be somewhat tactful when I said Romance novels. My late wife used to read them. also. I just picked a poor choice of words. What I was referring to, was what we called in the navy, "F" books.

If the Jess character was killed, he would have been lifted to saint status. If you think the R/J'er's are nuts now; it is nothing compared to what they would be like now.

They would build shrines to him. and probably threaten you with all sorts of dire consequences if you spoke out against Jess. In fact Jess would have three halos around his head instead of the standard one.
