To get to the end result of Rory being pregnant to Logan. That’s not going to happen if she chose Jess there, and I just can’t see ASP having Rory cheat on Jess with Logan. If ASP ever went that route I would be done with Rory.

idk I don’t see the 6x18 scene as clearly building up to that - Rory getting pregnant

for me it was more her conflicting emotions atm

I do think part of her was scared of her feelings for Jess because he hurt her badly in the past when he left

I always look at everything from a writing perspective. ASP always planned for Rory to be pregnant to her Christopher parallel at the end, and that’s not going to happen if she chooses Jess here. ASP had to keep Rory and Jess at arms length to achieve that so this is why we see Rory reluctant to give Jess a second chance in the OS. If Rory and Jess did get a second chance in season 6 but she ends up going back to Logan and falling pregnant to him that would be a definite game over for Jess and Rory. To achieve her ‘history repeats’ goal ASP really had no other option but to keep R and J apart.

I just felt like/meant that I think the scene by itself in the moment I took it with that perspective

Rory didn’t choose to stay with Logan in season 6 because she wanted to get pregnant by him - like that wasn’t a thought in her head in that scene atm

looking just at the scene by itself I don’t get that feeling at all and I definitely see Rory as being fearful of letting herself feel that way about Jess again

again I do still feel like the full circle is forced in some ways even as someone who thinks Logan is like Christopher in a lot of ways

Yeah I certainly don’t ever think that Rory wanted to get pregnant to Logan at all, and it was definitely her reluctance to get close to Jess again that caused the whole mess, but it certainly was the motive of the writers.
