Yes Rory's story was awful, even Alexis was disappointed.

It wasn't just the lack of RJ or the icky situation with Logan.

Amy has always told us to be interested in her career, and I find it perfectly reasonably that she could have been struggling to find her niche, however the fact that they made her completely useless and disinterested in every way goes against everything they built up in her character in seasons 1-4. A character I loved and identified with.

I think it would have been much more heartbreaking to see her fail giving it her all. Fans may have identified more with that and have some sympathy for her then.

It's like Amy wanted to show her life was completely out of control in every aspect...personal and professional.

I don't know, I liked flawed Rory. And such a flawed character is even better basic for new instalments. Rory could redeem now (or at least party redeem) and find her new way.

Jess must definitively be very important part of new instalment, he is the most significant part of Luke's family and Rory's ex.

Looking forward to new instalment.

true I guess she had some success though after S7 (I haven't watched it yet) up to when the revival happened and she's just going through an early mid-life crisis?

I think it's realistic to see her struggling (I'm more accepting of this after watching this video https://youtu.be/fLViRlIXH2M)

I don't mind Rory struggling, but things like her not trying in interviews and not caring at all about the cheating situation really irks me. I could have had a touch more understanding if she felt guilty about what she was doing, but what do we get....her being annoyed about Oddette moving in. WTF!

I guess Amy wanted to show that Rory was totally not herself in every way and this is the product of her subtlety sledgehammer. I still wonder how it would have played out if Amy did season 7 and what part Jess would have played. I read that the book idea only came up in discussion for the revival.

It's just very depressing to think that this is how she wanted to end the story, with Rory struggling in every aspect of her life and then find out she's pregnant.

I guess this way, we have a huge chance of more episodes and the possibility to redeem her, and more importantly. get our guys together where they belong.

IMO Rory was sweet, polite, a little selfish teenager - but she was pretty sheltered at the time.
Later on, Rory was still sweet, polite and a little selfish girl, but she wanted to experience new things and she had plenty opportunities. She became part of Life and Death Brigade, she liked her grandparents world. But she drifted slowly away from her "teenager self": books were not her priority any more (doesn't she do a tap dancing now), her work ethic was not so rigorous any more. I don't think, that that is necessary only a bad thing.

Rory has to choose now what she really wants and who she really is. It could be an amazing story.


Yes. that would be interesting. He would probably support Rory and maybe give her some other advice. And he would definitively be very close to Luke (just like he is in revival, but perhaps with more scenes).

Would you explain your idea more? In what way are they similar to Romeo and Juliet?

I hope Jess and Rory will have much happier fate than Romeo and Juliet though.
