I don't necessarily agree with Logan winning the point for best relationship with Lorelai. Maybe during the original series he had swarmed her into liking him, but in the revival Jess was making himself at home in her house, and she blew him a kiss. A KISS!! For a blink and you miss it moment it is a massive deal. And surely with the situation with Logan in the revival she can't possibly think he is best for Rory.

I think there are so many parallels between Jess and Lorelai. Both screwing up as teens and running away, not graduating high school, fiercely independent, determined to pay back debts, even down to their exact same comments about the Indian food and the smell.

Knowing Amy's subtlety this is no accident.

I watched that video when it was first posted and I'm happy that Jess came out on top. During the original series Jess and Lorelai were pretty much at odds with one another so I can see why. And someone made a really awesome gifset on tumblr of Jess and Lorelai parallels recently.

No, that's definitively not a coincidence. That's one of the reasons for a "special connection" between Jess and Rory (beside books, absent fathers etc). They really understand each other.
Emily and Lorelai alway misinterpret each others actions or worlds and people many times misinterpret Jess's actions. However, Rory understands him. They "speak the same language". But on the other hand, that's the reason, that Lorelai and Jess don't get along. They are just too similar.

Well, Lorelai could not be happy about relationship between Rory and engaged Logan. That's for sure.

As for Jess: They are family now, so they probably both at least try to be polite with each other for Luke's sake or maybe they are even a little friendly (?).
However, Jess leaves the house in the evening and goes to Liz's house. And I don't know how to interpret his departure. Is there still some distance between him and Lorelai? Or maybe it's not related at all or it's related to Rory. I don't know.

I think he didn't want to be a burden and possibly because of Rory.

I refuse to believe that he has been pining all these years for Rory, however since seeing her again those feelings are resurfacing and he may have felt at that time that it was a bit dangerous for him to spend too much time with her.

I think Jess and Lorelai could have a great relationship. They have a lot in common and both have a quick wit and sarcastic sense of humour. And of course they both love and are highly protective of both Rory and Luke.

The 4 of them could be such a perfect family unit. It pains me they're not....yet .

I saw another great gif paralleling their first scene in the series and their first scene in the revival. Rory sitting at the desk turning around to see Jess breezing through her door. Episode 1 of the early years and episode 1 of the later perhaps. Sounds good to me .

There are some great fan fictions out there. I am really in awe of those writers who capture their banter to perfection. This is a really tricky show to write well for I think. I have just finished this one. She has their banter down beautifully.
