I love how supportive he was.
Yep. It was so significant she went to Luke for support and not Jason.
A sign that it was always supposed to be Luke, since she trusted him more than the man she was dating.
I mean, Jason sat at that dinner with her family while she was being chewed out over her financial situation and said nothing. She cries to Luke, blurts out about having wanted to ask him for 30k, then the next day Luke gives her that money, no questions asked.
It was odd that Jason said nothing and we never see her speak to Jason about any of the things that were stressing her out. Luke was who she trusted and wanted to talk to, he was more of a partner to her than Jason.
It adds to the building up of LL getting together. Lorelai being with Jason was like she she was just passing some time.
As soon as Jason entered the picture you knew he was just a small obstacle in the way of LL getting together. He was a lot like Max in that I saw him as no significant threat to LL. And in seeing her with Jason it made it that much more obvious that Luke was her soulmate.
Jason was even less of a threat than Max tbh. Look how easily she moved onto Luke and then how deeply she fell for him. I mean, she was already in love with him, but how quickly she realised her feelings for him.
Jason seemed pointless as a romantic interest imo. He was definitely of no threat to Luke and Lorelai.

Love the way he looks at her.
Sweet moment there.
It really was so sweet how he comforts her there. I love how he just listens to her, even though what she's saying is a little crazy (about PA), but then he reassures her when she starts saying she's a bad mother.
He looks at her with so much love.
And then the way he plays with her hair. :sigh:
They're adorable here: https://i.ibb.co/FY1tn6Q/20220526-220403.jpg |
