I loved all of Winter, too! I mean, I would have like to have seen more of Luke and Lorelai's "rolicking" lovemaking, but regardless, I liked it all.

and i loved the "winter" feel in this episode a lot, it gave me such happy vibes.

Winter was good! I love the intro, i love the I smell snow! But yeah it was missing a Jess/RJ quote but it's okay. It made me tear up a little, it was sooo nostalgic

I watched Winter with my Mom and friend and we were not that excited. I loved the funeral scene, but how Emily switched from not talking to Lorelai to agreeing to therapy - yeah, very believable. It didn't seem to have much story to it. I liked the town (Kirk, Taylor,...) almost best I think, which is weird, because usually I don't care too much for the town.

We had to watch it in german because of my mother and I really have a problem with Emily's voice - it doesn't have any warmth at all. The original actress who spoke her died during season 6 and since then it's a desaster.

I already watched all the eps (the last two in english because I was alone by then) and I have to say I liked every ep better than the last one, so Winter is my least fave. My main problem is that there wasn't much story to it. And the Paul thing was so silly and careless and so not Rory...

Oh and who is so stupid not to stand still when you finally have reception, but just continues runnning through town like a crazy woman???

I liked the very beginning with all the quotes, though it's annoying that they got another actor to speak the Richard quote in german instead of taking the bit from the pilot.

As for Lanes father (was that in Winter? So hard to tell, when you watch it that fast) I didn't like that as well - it was pointless.

I think what I liked best about this ep was the funeral scene plus FND 4 months later and a few townies like Kirk - oh and I liked Michel.

I didn't like that. It literally ruined the on-going joke. It's like if they showed us Kirk's mother. You just don't do that. You don't shatter the illusion.

I liked seeing him. I thought it made sense.

I dont think it was a running gag, they seemed to imply her father wants in her life at first and then just randomly said he was there later.

I think the best part of this all was the richard/emily/lorelai/rory stuff.. at least the events linked to those 4 though Kirk is always good in my book!

The tone shift during the "favorite thing about Richard" scene is even better the second time around. Knowing it's coming, it broke my heart.


Close to home and both actresses sell it so well.

I'm going to fall more in love with this whole season on rewatches. I feel it already.
