Not done yet but that episode is kinda boring and makes me mad.

heartღaflutter 11-25-2016 04:32 AM

Just finished watching this! More Logan! :)

Rory - Gosh where to start? I suspected that the story would go to her not writing that book
Rory and logan had lunch! Supercute and Logan looked so proud when Rory was talking, so much love there... and then hello mitchum! Apparently nobody knows they meet... Mitchum offers a friendly help and no yelling between Mitchum and Logan. ;)
Logan has a fiancee? Really? Odette and she's living in Paris.. We don't really see her apart from lying in bed when Rory is calling. Awkward but Logan is helping her by agreeing that meeting that Mitchum can arrange...
I stll find it odd that he's engaged (and sleeping with Rory?) I want to know more about that, why are they doing that? Both in relationships and cheating? I can't imagine logan doing that after season 7...
Still not sure what to make of ROry's storyline in this chapter.... She has troubles with work and in the end she has nothing, not even SandeeSays... and moves in with Lorelai who doesn't look happy about it.
Loved the hotel room scene.. It was funny how Rory freaked out about the one night stand.. with Woopie (I think)... though Lorelai had no clue about Logan though she did know he was engaged.
Was cool to see her back at Chilton! Paris and Rory rocked both their speeches  Each in their own way, maybe Rory should have taken the teacher job ;)

Lorelai and Emily - I loved the scene where they laughed so much during therapy, apart from that not a lot of them together. The time thing was too funny in the opening sequence.. but in the end I don't like how Lorelai doesn't tell Luke about going to the counseling on her own. Communication is a thing between those two.
Emily offering Luke money that Richard saved for him to expand Luke's and he even goes along with it
I honestly thought Luke had more of a backbone in the original series? He seems softer now... though I do enjoy the luke/emily scenes in the revival a lot ;)

not a lot of townies in this one or even Michel

Seems like Paris is struggling with the divorce.. I like seeing that she can be human about such a big thing in life. I enjoyed seeing that. Paris is in it more then I thought so far (in the revival)

In some way I am surprised Rory loves this vagabond lifestyle of not having a place to live really...
Plus I still have no clue what Logan is doing now? Working for his dad? On his own?

Awesome with the Paul Anka cameo

winter was better yes  I don't feel like the story is moving forward just yet, they're just adding stuff in there that needs resolution..
and Rory is only taking steps back...

GEORGEIII 11-25-2016 05:09 AM

I liked the episode, although I agree that Winter was better.

ASP kinda cheated on the R/L relationship, though, she skipped all the awkward years of them not speaking to each other, skipped all the angst and went straight into them forgiving each other and becoming friends offscreen...

And then they decided to become *********** buddies.

Frankly, I'm a bit troubled by the rather carefree attitude they are displaying towards their so-called significant others? They are behaving like people who are involved with each other in an "open relationship" rather than people who are supposed to be in relationships with other people. It's a bit OOC for both of them? No?

Unless...ASP and DP decided to "ignore" Logan's Proposal and had them instead separate amicably? And then they became *********** buddies?

How long has that been going on? Years??

Frankly, my only problem with the Revival so far is actually the R/L relationship? They're both a bit OOC? Kinda like a R/L fanfiction.net fanfic? In fact, didn't I see a plot similar to this there once? LOL.

The rest of DP's and ASP's writing seems to me very much up to form...

Don't get me wrong, I'm finding the R/L scenes very enjoyable, It's just that I'm a bit troubled by their attitude towards Paul and whatsherface? They don't seem to care very much at all about those so-called relationships, no?

MRS KIM YASSSSS. I love her so much. And they showed Lane’s dad too! OMG. FRICKIN HILARIOUS since he was MIA in the original series and it makes perfect sense too because he was all quiet and like just in the background omg I laughed so much

And “Sandy” was the girl from Bunheads. That was pretty cool.

Logan’s father was still a jerk, surprise surprise. I didn’t see that as a good sign for L/R at all. Seeing Logan still under his fathers shadow wasn’t good, I think everyone was hoping he was going to get over that. And Rory clearly still had a huge issue with him. Rory also hiding that relationship from her mom doesn’t bode well for them either. Also Logan having another chick (did they say she was the finance?) on the side was icky too.

Loved hearing TJ and Liz on the phone even though they weren’t part of the revival. I didn’t think they were necessary but it was nice to see them mentioned.

Rory going back to Chilton was fun. Mr Sanders running from Paris was hilarious.

Lorelai confirmed she was with Luke for 9 years. :yay: Emily was being really rude in the episode about LL. It was driving me crazy because I felt like she was sort of degressing. IDK, it was hard to watch.

Seeing “Tristan” again was hilarious even though it wasnt CMM (and it kinda makes me sad that they didnt get him back but I guess apparently he said he would have done it if it was a cool role… sorry buddy there are too many others to focus on.) And Franci… love it.

I loved Rory having a mini meltdown about her one night stand and then saying she was a failure. I felt it was relatable. AND SHES STILL WITH PAUL REALLY.

Random thoughts:
-I loved the whole basket bid throwback!
-Paul Anka! OMGGGGGGG. :lmao: THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST OMG I CANT.
-Rachael Ray was no bueno… :look:
-Rory teaching at Chilton would be great.
-Was that Ausiello? LMAO.
-Rory moving home weirdly made me happy.
-Really thought Jess was gonna be in this one. Bummer. :(

I felt that Rory was more out of character then Lorelai.. Lorelai was never the communication woman so that fit her
Rory's stuff was just odd... plus she did the casual thing in college so just retried?

that's the biggest shame because it wasn't how s7 ended with Logan stepping away from the family business...

yeah the roommates bit was a bit harsh

Jamie 11-25-2016 09:24 AM

Now Lorelai is lying to Luke about going to therapy. What is up with my girls?

Swift2Potter 11-25-2016 11:33 AM

and here we go with Spring!

Well, It was fun. It was so nice to see Mrs. Kim, oh I missed her. Also the sudden appearance of Mr. Kim - that was good! I love the little moment of Luke and Lorelai in the bid a basket thing! I really wished Jess was in this episode so that they could part take in that specific story (especially the bid a basket was a huge moment for R/J :bawl:)

Going back to Chilton made me felt like I'm also going back again in my high school! I liked Paris' breakdown actually - it takes a lot of guts for Paris to admit that she is experiencing a heartache and oh boy, their scene with Francie was HILARIOUS. Especially when Paris was listing the HS drama they went through  THAT WAS SO FUNNY.

Sandy is Whitney from The Affair! and she's still a bitch here!

Anyway, I really want to feel sad about Rory but I CAN'T. The L/R stuff was good and as much as it hurts for me to say it, Rory loves Logan. She does. And it really stings me a little to say that. She has these hints that she wants to be with Logan in this episode. Rory knows she's 32 but I still think her minds says she's 22. Sorry to say this but instead of moving forward as character, she's moving backwards. And having one night stands???? REALLLLLLY?????

I like Lorelai's therapy session. I guess she always wanted to say I love you to her Dad and she didnt have the chance to say it. Kind of reminds me when her dad got hospitalized in s1. She was dead worried.

It was also nice of Richard to leave something on his will to Luke. I think it was very thoughtful and says a lot about Luke's relationship with the Gilmores. I just dont get it that after 9 years of being together Lorelai is still having a hard time telling the truth to Luke and it was not really a big of deal??

Mitch Huntzberger is still a jerk, btw.

Cmtaylor531 11-25-2016 02:01 PM

I actually liked or didn't hate Rory/Logan in Winter but now that I know they both have significant others and that Logan is engaged it bothers me. Plus we saw Mitchum again and I don't know whether Logan is working for him. I feel like all of Logan's charcater development went out the window. I don't like the idea that Logan is still a playboy. Granted maybe it's just the Rory factor. Sometimes people have that one person that can't let go of even if they should and I'm the end hurt others because of it. Are they maybe making Logan Rory's Christopher? I always saw him that way a bit.

I'm still bugged Rory hasn't dumped Paul. It seems pointless that she hasn't yet. Is she forgetting to dump him to hold onto him as some sort of safety net? I don't get it.

I did enjoy the Rory meltdown about having a one that stand with Wookie. In a way it felt relatable to me. Also the fact that she's realizing her dream isn't as easy as she thought it would be in some ways and how she's now moving back home. It's very millennial.

Also still loving the Emily/Laurlei stuff. I'm retry sure do far s been the best thing about the revival.

Alexa 11-25-2016 03:01 PM

Yeah I really didn't like the harping on LL or the weird miscommunication issues with LL.

It was sad for Lagan as a character to still be working under his father :(. He could still be a business guy but I wanted to see him break free of that. Such a bummer.

I agree that Rory was obviously hurting over Logan which is so odd considering how they left things... an Logan didn't really seem to reciprocate the same feelings.

pinkpaisley 11-25-2016 04:23 PM

For some reason, I think the Rory/Logan thing was something very natural. I mean, him being engaged was horrible, but them reconnecting, not so weird.

Quote:

ASP has always said that Logan was Christopher. So, this makes sense.

I loved the little references of the Twickham house and the basket bidding. And Lorelai still doesn't like Jess (throw a ball at him)? I wonder why that is. But yeah, L/L never had great communication and apparently they still don't.

And we got to see Mr. Kim!!!

sourburst 11-25-2016 05:06 PM

Hate how plastic everyone looks and Rory is disgusting. They've ruined her. Making her out as a cheater. Not only is she sleeping with logan and forgetting her boyfriend, she's having one night stands now too? Completely trashed her and made her lose her intelligence and morals.

I'm really not impressed with this show yet. It hasn't got the Gilmore feel.

Mr Kim cameo was hilarious though. Not going to lie. I loved it.

So, intelligent people can't have one-night stands? Rory hasn't been in one place for a long time, long enough to meet someone to really date. Her having a one-night stand seemed pretty normal to me. :look:

Talula78 11-25-2016 05:31 PM

Just started Spring a bit ago & I LOVED the Mr. Kim appearance!!!

I understand people's frustrations with Rory's cheating, but I still love her as a character and I have to disagree with it compromising her intelligence. Bad decision on her part, though, I was shaking my head the entire time. Having said all of that, I still love that character and want to see where this all goes?

:high_five:

I agree about the one night stand, totally normal to me too.

I didn't know ASP said that. Completely agree with her about Logan.

Sourburst: Really, stop going after how people look. "Plastic" really!!
