I was mentioning two weeks ago about an 'essay' I ended up writing (at like, 4 in the morning) right after episode 6.17. I do feel it's a bit too over-the-top in it's explanations but if you tone down my excitement, I think the message is still there.

It's being posted at the 'blog' I opened for GG. Long sections, be forwarned.
It's probably better and easier to read in parts, one day at a time, so you don't get bored by my ramblings that quickly.

Of course, it is about the Lorelai/Emily relationship

i soooo wanted to see that hug. or at least Emily saying she's proud of her. damn DR. you couldn't do one thing right.

Yep - everything she did with Rory in the last ep. If at least she could've said she'd agree with Richard.

Yay! It is about time that we had a thread devoted to Emily and Lorelai. You could talk about them all day.

I still think Emily was not drunk in Kayak and that she truly meant what she said to Lorelai. The ending did piss me off but I try to look past it as she opened up and then she got scared the next morning about having been so uncharacteristic and casual with her daughter (which she was not raised to be.) I do wish we'd seen something like Rory got, but at least we had some decent closure for Emily/Lorelai. We got more than the JJ relationship (weeks of "I'm over him" and then a sudden kiss at the end) and more than the Sophies. So, I guess we should be grateful for at least getting Lorelai to agree to FNDs without Rory being around.

I don't needed the hug but I missed a talk between Lorelai and her mother about the past. Emily should told Lorelai how hurt she was after she left.

they needed closure, and they never got it. LC got closure, but EL didn't. this is a FF show, and i think that it would be much more important if EL got closure. it pissed me off.

That two second line in Kayak was not enough it. It was a start, but not enough. Richard told Lorelai about Emily not being able to get out of bed but I wish E/L had talked more about the past without getting into an argument.

There were so many time for a talk in the season, think only at IWRBIP after Emily's break down and of course in Kayak, it was really to short but what we get was only......crap. Where do you think has Lorelai slept, in one of the guest rooms or in her old room? Wasn't it modified?
It bothers me that we will never get to know what's all about the dollhouse.
