I love when both Luke and Lorelai are called out on their feelings for each other, Jess just didn't do it in the nicest of ways.

Yes he makes a point but I think it's also unfair. Yes he does things for Lorelai but Luke does a lot for everyone because he is a good and selfless person.

Exactly. Him doing things he doesn't want to do, for Lorelai, doesn't make him a dog following her, it makes him a selfless person who cares for her.
