I don't want a repeat of the Rachel goodbye scene from LDAT. He'll deny it at first but I want her to push him into saying something true. He doesn't have to say "I love Lorelai" but I'd like him to admit that his feelings may be much deeper than friendship. Make him do some thinking about what he wants from his life. And then do something about it.

People have mentioned a softening of Luke lately. He wasn't as gruff or grumpy in this past episode - except when confronted with the idea of Nicole knowing about the money. He seems more openly tenderhearted, even towards Kirk and his doggie antics. I loved how Lorelai was shocked that he knew Snuggles' name. She repeated it twice!

I think he was in a better mood b/c of the meltdown in the park. Not that he wanted to see Lor hurting, but that she was hurting, and turned to him for help and he was able to help her out, by offering comfort and then giving her the money. That's what Luke lives for - fixing things, he was able to fix a problem for the woman he loves. He's feeling fulfilled and is therefore softening.

We've talked about how they balance each other. Luke's love for Lor and Rory softens him. And Lor's love for Luke softens her as well.

Do you think the fight will be about the money? Did he tell her, did she find out somehow?

I kind of hope the fight starts out when she takes a look at his apartment and realizes that, although he sometimes stay with her, he really still lives there. And then somehow goes into other problems with the relationship and them in to the money thing. I don't care how it goes....I just want it to go ~~ bigtime!!

The fight has to be a little about things between them. They have to both know this marriage isn't going well. I'm sure he does feel the marriage isn't worth trying anymore, at least for him. Luke's feelings, yep he is more into Lorelai than ever!!

I think the fight between Nicole and Luke will include the money, and all of the others problems thats going on. With the two of them, one thing just leads to the next like a puzzle. These two never solve any issues, they just make more on top of the ones they have. Nicole really shouldn't have to see Luke's apartment to be able to tell that he hasn't moved, cause everyday she wakes up and looks around should be evident enough. Hopefully we'll get some kind of movement towards this well deserved divorce. I wonder will Luke voluntarily tell Nicole about the money, or does she have to pull it out of him?

I say she finds out somehow and pulls it out of him. Even if they have separate accounts.. $30,000 is a lot of money to try and keep a secret. Also, Luke must have more money than we all think he has if he can easily write a check for that amount.. and apparently not make him broke. I wonder if Nicole knows he even has that much money?

Seriously, how does Luke even have that much money? I know he's a "hermit" and all, but geez! It almost makes me want to go into the diner business! [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

So I finally got to see the ep (after all, the internet is a wonderful thing) and I have to say, my fave LL moment was at the beginning when Lorelai walked into the diner. Her "hey" and his "heeeeeey" were so cute, but it was the little breakfast plate dance between the two of them that just shouted "HELLO! We're flirtin' over here!" to me. Loved it!

Luke's a saver. He's had that same truck forever. We've only seen him spend money three times; Lorelai's shopping trip, the building, and the cruise.

I don't see Nicole wanting any of Luke's stuff in her apartment. His apartment is like Lorelai's house, warm and full of stuff. But I think Nicole would expect to see stuff in boxes, and at least, looking a little like he's planning to take some stuff out of there. Of course, she knows he spends minimal time with her.

I'm curious about this fight. Not so happy that the hiatus follows.....but then on to May sweeps. There has to be some great stuff coming up!!

About Luke's money. Yes, he's a saver. But don't forget he's also Taylor's landlord for the soda shop. I would bet he's not opposed to gouging him on the rent. Although I think Luke is an ethical guy, I wouldn't put it past him to lord it over Taylor like that.

Remember that Luke initally met Nicole b/c she came into the diner to have him sign Taylor's lease? It would be ironic that the money he gets from Taylor's rent is the money he gives to Lorelai which ultimately is the last straw in his marriage? Kind of poetic, huh?
