I was reading the transcript of Tick, Tick, Tick, Boom (on account of never having seen the episode) and I couldn't help but think about all the times Luke has mentioned that he doesn't like kids and babies. I don't know if they'll ever have a storyline of Lorelai getting pregnant (with Luke's kid, of course). (I could see both pros and cons to that situation.) But you just know that if and when it does happen, Luke is going to be one devoted father. I mean, he will dote on that kid like there is no tomorrow. Especially if it's a girl. I can just imagine what he would be like with his daughter's dates. Oh man! Not only would the guy be too scared to even kiss her-he'd probably get her home fifteen minutes before curfew! Yep, there is no doubt in my mind-Luke would be a fantastic father.

I don't know that we'll ever see that either. But if Lorelai were pregnant with his child....he'd be a blithering idiot!!! And there would be no other baby in town that could hold a candle to that creation!!!!

Morning all!!

Great song lyrics.

Any one every listen to Crazy For This Girl, the version I have is by evan and jaron. Makes me think of Luke every time I hear it.

GEN your freedom beckons!!! Hope your day goes well!!

Is it just me or does this state it perfectly??!!

Title: Crazy For This Girl

She rolls the window down
And she
Talks over the sound
Of the cars that pass us by
And I don't know why
But she's changed my mind

Chorus:
Would you look at her
She looks at me
She's got me thinking about her constantly
But she don't know how I feel
And as she carries on without a doubt
I wonder if she's figured out
I'm crazy for this girl

She was the one to hold me
The night
The sky fell down
And what was I thinking when
The world didn't end
Why didn't I know what I know now

Chorus

Right now
Face to face
All my fears
Pushed aside
And right now
I'm ready to spend the rest of my life
With you

 Good morning!

Gen , good luck on your tests today! :)

Janet  we'll miss you!

It's true that we'll probably never see Luke and Lorelai having a baby together, (probably because the show will end before that would happen. :( ) but I agree that Luke would be a GREAT father. Even though he says that he doesn't like kids, you can tell that he sorta does. I know Rory's not a baby, but look how protective he is of her. And you know that he would ADORE his kid, simply because it was his.

Cheryl, I love that song and those lyrics are great for our couple!

Hola guys! It's bright here. :sun:

Wow, I wasn't even around last night and we've got a kick-ass new dirty! title. *sbiff* I'm so proud! :D

Kitty and Gen, you guys should know by now that no amount of fairy dust or wand swinging will bring a new chapter from netherfield. Only the :whip:.

Such a pretty WP, Kristi! If other people didn't have to see my computer at work I'd totally put it on here. But, I get mocked for so many things already...why add fuel to the fire?

This is probably sort of a newbie topic to bring up, because y'all have probably discussed it before, but--first of all, the diner and the grandparents house are different in the Pilot, right? Because they don't look right at all. The entrance to Luke's is on the wrong side, it's not on a corner, the counter is on the wrong side of the room, etc. And then the elder Gilmores' living room is completely different for much, if not all of the first season. Just wanted to double-check and make sure I'm not crazy.

Wow, that was a lot. :D

Valerina 06-10-2004 06:47 AM

Hey! Cheryl's got a new chaper up!

:pinkie: Chapter 12.

::skipping off to read::

And csgreeneyes, pilots are often different than the subsequent eps of the series. After all, when pilots are made there's no guarantee that it'll be made into a series. I remember on 90210's pilot there was a whole different Walsh house.

Ah, but now I'm dating myself. :)

Morning everyone!

Yes, Luke is going to be such a good dad! I really would love to see L&L babysit for Sookie and Jackson sometime this season...

I really miss Costa Rican TV. They show GG every day there! It's on weekdays in the morning and then they re-air the same episode in the afternoon. When I was there it was the start of Season 3 episodes. The first day I realized GG was on, they were showing LHCD. I was so excited when I realized that was the episode, but then I was rapidly infuriated because I realized I'd missed The Dream! This led to much cursing as I've wanted to see The Dream again for a very long time. But I love the scene at the end in the diner! (BTW, Gen, can I be keeper of the donut that Luke gives "Mimi"? I'll PM you because I'm sure you're busy with finals right now...) Then the episode was on again later, but I didn't know that they would be re-airing it, so I again missed The Dream!

To quote Hugh Grant in "Four Weddings and a Funeral: :censored:, :censored:, :censored:ety, :censored:!

They also had really cool promos for GG. They had a theme of "Wheel of Fortune (Ruleta de Fortuna)" and they would show a wheel spinning with all the characters faces on it. It would land on one of the characters and they would show fun clips of that character. They had ones for Emily, Miss Patty, Kirk, Lorelai, Rory, and Luke. Luke's was my fave because the clips were from the Meltdown in the Park.

I must say that GG doesn't translate very well to subtitles. The eps I watched were broadcast in English but subtitled in Spanish, and I know a bit of Spanish so I read the subtitles to see how they were translating the dialogue. The "new" (Season 4) episode they aired was "After Boom", and when Lorelai talks about cleaning up the horses with the new car smell, they just translated it to "shampoo". Totally loses the humor. :( Ah well. It just makes me wonder how much I miss when I watch foreign films with subtitles...

I know what you all are thinking, and NO, I did not watch GG the entire time I was on vacation! We did fun stuff like hiking in the rainforest and going shopping and stuff too. But my mom and I got sick about halfway through the week and we were feeling kind of weak for a few days so we hung out inside during the hottest hours of the day.

I'm still bummed that I missed watching The Dream. :( As soon as I got home I found the screen caps and the transcript, but it's just not the same. :pout:
Hope you guys are having a good day so far! Work sucks. :puke:

No, you're right. I think it's because the pilot was filmed in Toronto, but I'm not sure. We have experts on the board that I'm sure can explain...

I can just see Lorelai and Luke babysitting Davey (Lorelai roped Luke into it). Of course, they can't get him to stop crying. Well, Lorelai can't because Luke isn't doing too much to help her. Lorelai has to get something, so she gives Davey to a reluctant Luke. And as soon as Luke takes him, Davey calms down, prompting an "Ah, jeez!" from Luke. :D

gwasshoppa 06-10-2004 07:12 AM

Haha, it would be like a test run. I could see her giving poor Davey some coffee just to see what it does to him. Aw that'd rock.

Okay if Luke and Lorelai got married and had a kid, what sex do you think it'd be. Personally I'd hope for a girl, just because I think it'd be cute to see Luke in that role, but a boy would also be interesting to watch.

Aw geez, they've only kissed twice and I wanna know the sex of their unforseen children as a product of mms.

Ahh, I have an interview at Barnes and Noble today. Keep your fingers crossed guys!

Have a lovely day!

Valerina 06-10-2004 07:17 AM

As the official keeper of Luke and Lorelai: The Offspring I will weigh in and say twins--a boy and a girl. I just like the idea of Luke having a little girl to spoil and a boy to dress in a baseball cap and flannel.

 You made me think of the Simpsons where Bart feeds coffee ice cream to Maggie and she spazzes out and starts climbing across the shower rod.

I'd love to see them with a girl, too.

Good luck at Barnes and Noble, today!

Oh, god, I'm just adding to my nickname here.. aren't I?

Arista Yes, the unaired Pilot was filmed in Toronto, Canada. They used a small town, I'm thinking, is in the suburbs of Toronto.. I forgot the name of the place.

Yet, after the bigwigs from the WB saw the Pilot they asked for some changes.. like a new 'Dean', they got a new 'Sookie' because the actress (and yet I can't remember her name right now) couldn't be available to play Sookie, she did play Drella in the first few eps. So they reshot some of the scenes at the WB studio for the Pilot that did air, but over half of the episode was shot in Toronto. The unaired Pilot does have some scenes that weren't in the aired Pilot.
