when I first became a mod on here I never moderated anything before either. it was all very new to me. but like they said before they do have a mentorship here to help you learn the ropes. everyone here is super nice and will take the time to help you with whatever questions you might have. and becoming a mod is pretty easy once you learn what all you have to do.
