next season (polin season or not) is going to be so angsty
I think you are all right. The more I think about it the more I think last season was good for us. Maybe i was so upset about this season because I didn't really understand all those longing looks Colin had with Penelope, but the truth is, I don't know what I was expecting or why I was dissapointed, Is not as in the books it doesn't happen in the blink of an eye, at least on TV, they bother to develop their relationship, which is a lot better.
We'll get a lot of Polin next season, it's doesn't matter if season 3 is their season or not, because if they did in this one, when no one was expecting it, how are they not going to do it next season, even if it is only because she is isolated to the Bridgertons, because of Eloise, and he is trying to figure it out why she is not close to them (and specially him) anymore.
I was thinking today about this, and if they choose to make next season Polin's season, there are a lot of ways they can do a time jump, I'll write it in spoilers just in case, but I don't know if books are spoilers anymore

for example, and as I said this is simply speculation:
1st scene. Next season, Francesca meeting his future husband.
2nd scene. Following season. F marrying his husband.
3rd scene. F husband dying. she crying "it's beeing only two years"
4th scene. next season, even if they don't add anything else, 5 seasons has gone by.
all this including with some contextualizing scenes
good thing (and bad thing) is that no one knows what's going to happen next, so we can speculate as much as we want to
