I had switched out my 17-40L the friday before for a game. The faster lenses do allow me to still action a little better because I can shoot at a faster shutter speed and follow the player/subject in motion and thus freeze action. Most cameras have a tougher time shooting like I did from the back of the LAJFF theartre as they sacrifice lens speed for depth of field ( the distance that remains in focus in front of and behind the intended subject) __________________

Thanks for explaining. I get it. I love taking photos with my two cameras (three if you count my cell cam that I don't use cause it's so horrible) but I don't know anything technically that would make one camera better than the other. Besides testing them out anyway.

Kristen I finally saw the photo of you and Shiri on the yahoo search as well. I did the same search and the group photo of all of us from the Boston Film Festival showed up!
